Among the many services offered by the giant Google, one of the most used is the one that allows us to store all kinds of our own images. In this way, we store thousands of photos on the company’s remote servers, saving a good amount of space on our local disks.
This is one of the many services that we can use by simply creating our own Google account. From then on, we will be entitled to a series of free gigabytes on the company’s servers. Specifically, 15, which we can increase later by paying one of the available subscriptions.
But we must take into account that apart from being able to store these photos remotely, we have some very interesting additional functions. We must keep in mind that the Google Photos service allows us to edit them using the integrated tools by default. In fact, we can say that Google has recently added several new functions to the Photos application.
Among them we can highlight an almost automatic function for editing especially focused on the use of older devices. It incorporates a large number of AI editing features for Android. The striking thing about all this is that until now we had at our disposal a multitude of basic editing tools to modify our images and improve them. But we could not carry out something as simple as rotating those stored photos.
The company has realized that this tool is one of the most common, despite its simplicity, in most photo editors. That is why it has decided to change this.
This long-awaited feature is coming to Google Photos
Aside from all the common tasks with the images we store here, sometimes the only thing we need is to rotate them. And the same goes for the videos we store. Right now it has been discovered that Google is testing this functionality that we mentioned to rotate images and videos on Android-based devices.

As seen in the test versions of the online service, Google Photos is slowly getting a new button that finally allows us to rotate images horizontally. It is worth noting that this change now appears within the Crop section of the editing tools in the Photos app on Android.
What we need to keep in mind at this point is that the feature is being rolled out slowly to some users. This means that for the moment the tool to rotate our photos has not been widely released to all users. Everything suggests that the functionality will arrive gradually in the form of an update over the next few days.
After flipping the image or video, we will have the option to save it as a copy of the file, also keeping the original. This is a feature that will soon be part of the many editing tools that Google Photos offers us by default to improve the files stored here.
