Let’s start from the premise that when we talk about Microsoft’s Windows system, we are referring to paid software. This means that for many users the appearance of advertising messages and similar in some sections is unnecessary.

It would be a different story if we were talking about free software that somehow has to cover the costs of its development and maintenance. But with Windows we pay, one way or another, for its license, and it is not cheap. That is precisely why Microsoft has been criticizing Microsoft for launching all kinds of messages and recommendations from itself and even from third parties.

The truth is that these recommendations are unnecessary for most users, and are more of a nuisance than a help. But it seems that the software giant is learning and helping us manage all of this. We are telling you all this because of a new feature that the company is preparing for Windows 11. It should be noted that the Settings application of this version of the operating system is constantly adding new options.

All of this is in preparation for the removal of the Control Panel that has been with us for so many years. Well, it seems that Microsoft has now redesigned the Privacy and security page in the Settings app to provide greater clarity when using the Insider channel.

On the other hand, the new Recommendations and offers page replaces the General Settings page that we are used to. This will allow us to have better control over the recommendations and suggestions that will suddenly appear in various sections of the operating system. Of course, this new feature will be appreciated by many Windows 11 regulars.

This is how Microsoft improves recommendations in Windows

In this section we will find a new option called Personalized Offers. This allows us to activate or deactivate suggestions, advertisements and recommendations based on our activity in Windows. This is a section that has received a lot of criticism over the last few years and it seems that Microsoft is taking note.

In parallel, the software giant has also renamed the Allow me to show personalized ads feature to Advertising ID. As you can imagine, this is a feature that allows us to enable or disable ads that suddenly appear in different sections of the system.

At this point, we should be clear that these privacy-related changes to the Settings app work in the Beta and Canary versions of Windows 11. All in all, we can probably benefit from these modifications in Windows 11 24H2, which is getting closer.

Microsoft wants, as far as possible, to adapt the functions and behavior of Windows 11 to the requirements of users. Especially considering that Windows 10 is getting closer to the end of its official support, and migration to the new version of the system will become widespread from that moment on.

At least that’s what the software giant hopes. That’s precisely why it wants to make Windows 11 a more attractive operating system that meets almost everyone’s expectations.
