Google was the last major technology company to publicly launch a platform based on Artificial Intelligence that is capable of answering any question and generating texts based on a description. This feature has been available for a few months through Bard independently, as well as ChatGPT and Bing Chat.
If we talk about creating images, we find ourselves with the same problem, especially with Google, since currently it does not offer any specific website where we can generate them as we can do with the solution of Bing, DALL-E, Midjourney and others. To try to make up for lost time, Google has just announced that it is testing a new function that will allow all users to use both the creation of images based on a description using AI and text directly from the search engine.
Create images with AI using the Google search engine
While it is true that the Google search engine is the fastest and easiest way to find any image on the Internet, there is always the possibility that we are looking for a very specific image and we cannot find it and we end up using an AI to generate it. To prevent the user from leaving Google, the search giant wants to implement image creation directly in the search engine for some users.
The operation of this function is very intuitive since we only have to write in the search box what type of image we are looking for preceded by the words create a photorealistic drawing or image or similar so that the search engine interprets that we need to use AI to obtain a specific image.
At that moment, Google will show us 4 images generated based on the description we have established. But, the best of all is that, when we select the one that we like the most or that meets our needs, we can edit that image to, for example, modify the background or add other elements to the image.
The function to create images will also be available when we do an image search in the search engine and will be displayed along with all the images that the search engine has shown us based on a search. As usual, this AI has a series of restrictions so we will not be able to create any image if it violates Google’s generative AI use policy.
Also texts
Google’s AI to generate texts, Bard, will also be integrated into the Google search engine and to be able to use it we will only have to do the same thing that we currently do with it or with ChatGPT or Bing: write what we are looking for so that at the Google’s Artificial Intelligence takes care of the rest. Bard, unlike the free version of ChatGPT and like Bing Chat, has an Internet connection, so we will always find updated search results and not limited to September 2021 as with the OpenAI solution.
At the moment, this function is in the testing phase in the United States and will soon reach more countries, so if we want to start testing it, as long as Google selects us as a user, we will have to use a VPN.
