The operation will affect workers from the different companies part of the MasOrange group, and compensation of up to 47 days per year worked is contemplated.
The ERE proposed by the telco MasOrange goes ahead after reaching an agreement with the unions, with the exception of CCOO, and will affect 650 company workers. This was announced this Wednesday after the meeting that took place in the morning, in which UGT and Fetico gave their approval to the employment regulation plan, which the Workers’ Commissions have denied. A total of six companies part of the group are affected.
UGT and Fetico have said yes after MasOrange slightly modified the conditions of the agreement, as explained by the first union. Specifically, MasOrange has eliminated the non-competition clause and now includes in-kind remuneration with a salary category in the regulatory salary, also eliminating the income cap on early retirements.
The vote was able to go ahead because, against the five representatives of the Workers’ Commissions, there were four from the UGT and another four from the Fetico Independent Trade Union Confederation.
Slight revisions
The company has gradually modified the proposed conditions, so that the number of affected employees went from 795 to 650. However, although MasOrange presents the ERE as voluntary, offering bonuses to those who join it, CCOO believes that it cannot be classified as completely voluntary because the necessary conditions have not been met, as they have explained to the media.
For all these reasons, UGT assures that it has been a difficult negotiation, in which it has been decided to say yes although the final conditions do not fully meet the expectations of a relevant part of the company’s staff.
The conditions
The bonus for those who join the ERE ranges from 3,000 to 15,000 euros depending on the worker’s seniority. Regarding compensation, MasOrange offers compensation of between 33 and 45 days per year worked for forced dismissals, and 34 to 47 days for volunteers, with a limit of two years for both cases. There is a maximum for compensation: 300,000 euros. For those over 63 years of age, the proposal of 20 days per year worked is maintained.
MasOrange maintains early retirements, lowering the age range between 56 and 62 years. To be eligible for early retirement, the worker will have to accumulate at least nine years of seniority for those between 56 and 58 years old, or five years for those between 59 and 62 years old. As non-salary supplements, health insurance compensation for two years is also included.
The company has committed not to carry out another ERE until December 31, 2025.
