The 2024 Emmy ceremony has just ended and has left us with a large number of series that have won an award. This confirms, as is now an annual tradition, which are the best series of the year, those that you should not miss for anything. Now, we explain how to watch each of them on streaming services.

The vast majority of streaming platforms, at least the big ones, have triumphed at the Emmys. However, as we will tell you below, what we have seen is that, this year, Disney+ has managed to break with the usual dominance of Max and Netflix. Although these have also taken awards, Disney’s streaming service is the one that has had the greatest impact. And that is great news considering that, right now, there is a Subscription offer for only 1.99 euros.

Winners of the 2024 Emmys on Disney+

Since there are so many series, we’re going to compile them by platform so that it’s easier for you to see which service you’ll find each Emmy winner on. We’re starting with Disney+ because, as we said, it’s the one that has won the prize. Also, keep in mind that we’re going over the major categories and not the technical ones, in which many other awards have been given.

To start, on Disney+ you have Shōgun, which has been the work that has won the 2024 Emmy for best drama series. This production set in samurai Japan is one of the most ambitious projects that the platform has ever considered. In fact, it costs so much budget that even Disney’s top executives seriously considered whether it would be a good investment. But, in the end, they decided to go for it and the result has been a crushing success. In addition to the award for best series, Shōgun also takes home the following awards: best lead actor in a drama series for Hiroyuki Sanada and best lead actress in a drama series for Anna Sawai. Another of the awards received by Shōgun is for best direction in a drama series, which was won by Frederick EO Toye for the episode “Crimson Sky”.

The hit series The Bear is also available on Disney+, although it did not win the award for best comedy this year. Instead, the cast of the series did triumph. Jeremy Allen White won the award for best actor in a comedy series and Ebon Moss-Bachrach won the award for best supporting actor in a comedy series. Along with them, Liza Colón-Zayas won the award for best supporting actress in a comedy series.

The Bear’s awards also include the award for best director for The Bear episode “Fishes,” directed by Christopher Storer. In addition, both Jon Bernthal and Jamie Lee Curtis have taken home the award for best guest actor and actress in a comedy series for their roles in The Bear.

Netflix’s Emmy-winning series of 2024

Although Netflix has been short on awards this year, the streaming platform has not missed the opportunity to mark its authority and importance in the series sector. Its big win comes with My Stuffed Reindeer, a series in which Jessica Gunning won the award for best supporting actress in a limited series. In addition, Richard Gadd won the 2024 Emmy for best script in a limited series for the same production and he himself took home the award for best actor in a limited or anthology series.

As expected, My Stuffed Reindeer also won the award for best limited series, anthology or television film. The Crown did not win much this year, but it made its presence felt at the gala with the award for best supporting actress in a drama series, which was won by Elizabeth Debicki. And finally, Ripley, through Steven Zaillian, won the award for best direction in a limited series or anthology.

2024 Emmy Winners Available on Max

The Bear’s defeat as a possible best comedy series has been due to the success achieved in this edition of the Emmys by the series Hacks. This comedy is available for Max subscribers and it is a much more classic proposal, a more natural comedy unlike the Disney+ restaurant series, where drama coexists with humor.

In addition, actor Paul W. Downs takes home the 2024 Emmy for Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series and Hannah Einbinder in the same category, but in the female version of the award. Along with this, Jean Smart takes home the Emmy for Best Actress in a Comedy Series and the episode “Bulletproof” of Hacks wins the 2024 Emmy for Best Comedy Script, having been written by Lucia Aniello, Paul W. Downs and Jen Statsky. Finally, the direction of that same episode has given the series the Emmy for Best Direction of a Comedy Series, with Lucia Aniello as the winner.

Other award-winning series

Apple TV+ has also been present at the awards ceremony, although with a much smaller presence. Apple’s platform has won the 2024 Emmy for best supporting actor in a drama series. Billy Crudup received it for his role in the series The Morning Show. Meanwhile, Apple TV+ has also triumphed with the Emmy for best script in a drama series for the episode “Negotiating with Tigers” of the series Slow Horses. It was written by Will Smith, but the screenwriter should not be confused with the famous Hollywood actor.

It should also be mentioned that Alex Edelman: Just for Us has won the Emmy for best comedy special, a special that you can watch on Movistar Plus+. Another of the award-winning series is Fargo, which has triumphed in the category of best supporting actor in a limited series with the award for Lamorne Morris. The season in which he appears is still available, but it should be released soon on Movistar Plus+ and Prime Video.

The miniseries True Detective: Night Country also won an Emmy, in which the legendary Jodie Foster won best leading actress. However, this film is not yet available for streaming in Spain, so we will have to wait.
