Microsoft Edge is the web browser that occupies second place on the list of the most used, only behind Google Chrome. This browser uses the same engine as its rival, but has innovation in terms of functions and features far superior to what we can find in the Google browser. With the rise of Artificial Intelligence in 2024 we have seen how many programs have opted for it in order to change the way we work with them. And, of course, Microsoft was not going to be less.

Although the first Artificial Intelligence that has been made available to all users completely free of charge has been ChatGPT, one of those that is winning the battle is Bing Chat, also known as “Copilot”, Microsoft’s AI. This allows us to use the latest ChatGPT algorithm (GPT-4) from the browser without having to pay a single euro, having an extremely powerful tool at our fingertips.

Microsoft wants to bring its AI Copilot to all possible platforms. We already have it on the PC thanks to one of the latest features that came to Windows 11 (although it is not yet available in Spain) and that allows us to invoke this new virtual assistant with a keyboard shortcut. And now, Microsoft’s AI wants to conquer mobile phones.

Microsoft Edge: Copilot Incorp, now available on Android and iOS

Microsoft has updated its browser tabs on Android and iOS to make clear its commitment to Artificial Intelligence. In this way, from now on, the browser will be called “Microsoft Edge: Copilot Incorp” when we search for it in both the Play Store and the Spanish App Store, as well as “Microsoft Edge: AI browser” in the event that it is Let’s look in the stores in English.

In the files, all the photos of the browser have been changed to show the functionalities that we achieve thanks to Artificial Intelligence, in addition to making its main qualities clear: the implementation of Copilot and the use of GPT-4 and Dall-E 3 to be able to generate both texts and images from any mobile device. Furthermore, in the description of the browser Microsoft makes it clear that it also uses this Artificial Intelligence to protect users while they browse, as well as to help them save on online purchases thanks to all the functions that are included within the browser itself.

A confusing name change

Microsoft has only changed the name of its browser on mobile phones, since the PC version that we can find in Windows 10, Windows 11, and other operating systems continues to have the name “Microsoft Edge”, without making further reference to the Artificial intelligence. And this can lead some users to confusion.

Despite this, both browsers have already been updated in the respective stores. And if you want to try first-hand what this AI offers, you can download them for free from these links.

What will be the next Microsoft product that will have Artificial Intelligence? We will know soon.
