The Olympic Games are starting! We are just hours away from the massive event kicking off and all eyes of the world turning to Paris. And that means that right now, it’s best to get ready so you don’t miss the ceremony. Below, we review all the ways to watch it, where, how and when.

The hopes of thousands of athletes will be raised in just a few hours when the Paris 2024 Olympic Games begin. Spain, like many other countries, is coming to the sporting event with the intention of winning as many medals as possible. But before that, it will be time to enjoy the spectacle and watch the athletes parade.

A ceremony with a lot of mystery

First of all, take note: the ceremony will officially start at 7:30 p.m., but at 6:30 p.m. there will already be a signal to enjoy. That will be the moment when the television broadcast will begin so that you can situate yourself in the event and not miss any detail of this celebration that, as we indicated, has been kept under wraps.

Representation of what the 2024 Olympic Games ceremony will look like

Paris has tried to keep the ceremony as secret as possible because it wants to surprise everyone with its celebration. As an important note, this will be the first time that it takes place outside the stadium, since it will be held on the banks of the famous Seine River. There will be a parade of flags with boats from different countries and a great show is promised that will highlight the history and tradition of the French capital, as well as the importance and history of the Olympic Games.

The athletes will arrive on the boats and carry out the ceremony during which the Olympic cauldron will be lit in the area in front of the Eiffel Tower. Spain will be led by Marcus Cooper and Támara Echegoyen as the country’s flag bearers, two athletes who compete in canoeing and sailing respectively. Both are outstanding athletes who have won gold medals in previous Olympic Games and who are back in action this year.

How to watch the ceremony?

There are different ways to keep up to date with what is happening at this important event. On the one hand, you have the coverage that will be on free-to-air DTT as is traditional. La 1, La 2 and Teledeporte will simulcast the signal that will show you the broadcast of the ceremony in style. This signal will also be available on the RTVE Play streaming platform.

However, TVE has confirmed that users who access the RTVE Play service will have a second signal with which to enjoy the celebration. In this case, the broadcast will begin at 7:15 p.m. and will be a retransmission of what happens on the boat occupied by the Spanish delegation. This means being able to see the athletes up close and be directly connected to what they are experiencing at that moment. Of course, combining both signals would not be a bad idea if you want to enjoy the best of the celebration and also see the Spanish athletes up close.

Of course, Eurosport will also have a live broadcast of the ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games. Considering that, from Max, you have access to its channels and that it will be where you can watch the games in full, it would not be surprising if you enjoyed the ceremony on its service and not from the DTT channels. In any case, the positive thing is to have many options and, in this way, no one is left without enjoying the spectacle. One last detail: the ceremony is expected to end after 11:00 p.m.
