Orange launches its new Orange TV Libre service to begin releasing its television platform in view of the great success that Movistar Plus+ has had in recent months. It is not yet available for customers of any operator, but everything would indicate that, as we mentioned previously, it would be the plan that Orange could be considering for its future.
We recently told you exclusively that Orange was preparing the launch of its television service in pure Movistar Plus+ style. Orange TV Libre has already been born and, although its name makes it quite clear what the future plan is, at the moment it can only be contracted by Jazztel customers. In this way, what Orange would be doing would be giving priority to its brand’s customers and thus begin testing the service. It’s an idea that sounds really good.
More than 90 channels and football
Orange TV Libre is now available and it does so with a launch proposal that is really juicy. Thus, Jazztel customers, as you can see and hire on their websitethey have the opportunity to contract the service without paying any type of fee until next year 2025. When 2025 arrives, the fee they will have to face to continue subscribing to the television service if they want it, will be one total of 7.99 euros.
With this rate, what customers get is a pack of more than 90 channels and a lot of sports. The channel selection is powerful and brings together many of the most popular television services, such as Warner TV, AXN, Eurosport 2, Comedy Central, AMC, Calle 13, Syfy or Paramount Channel, to name just a few. You can see the complete list from the Jazztel website to which we have linked a few lines above.
Regarding football, it includes one LaLiga EA Sports match each week, one UEFA Champions League match for each of its days and a total of three LaLiga Hypermotion matches per week. In addition, alongside football there is more sport, including major cycling competitions, tennis Grand Slams, motorsport competitions, snooker and both boxing and UFC matches. Taking into account the amount of sport that is included and the price of the service, it cannot be denied that the proposal has the capacity to captivate Jazztel customers.
What else is included?
Jazztel customers can access the new Orange TV Libre television service from the Jazztel TV application itself, which increases the convenience they will enjoy. In addition, they can benefit from various features, such as access to the last seven days, 350 hours of recording that can be stored for up to six months or, among other things, a live control system.
No less important, keep in mind that Orange TV Libre can be used on a maximum of five connected devices simultaneously. And, if you’re wondering what the image quality on offer is, Orange confirms that it is UHD/4K with surround sound. In addition, it is also possible to download a total of 25 monthly content that we can watch without being connected to the Internet on both tablets and mobile phones.
Orange also mentions that the service is connected to the Rakuten video store and that a parental control system is included that includes a PIN code so that children do not have access to content that is not appropriate. The service is compatible not only on Smart TV or mobile phones, but is also prepared to be used on the computer, on Fire TV and Chromecast devices, as well as on Apple TV.
Now that the service already exists and is taking its first steps, the sector is waiting for Orange to decide at some point to release it for customers of other operators. We should not be surprised if this happens in 2025 when the promotion to which Jazztel users have access ends. However, for now absolutely nothing is known about what Orange’s possible plans in this regard may be.
