For a few days now, users of AceStream, one of the main pirate IPTV tools, have been talking about the many problems they are having. With this, you can see that the fight against illegal football viewing has been raised to the next level. This could be the definitive end of the pirate sport.
A short time ago, LaLiga assured that they had the definitive anti-piracy tool ready that would allow any pirate signal to be eliminated. It would be the way to prevent, once and for all, users from continuing to watch illegal football in Spain. And, already at that time, it was said that February 2024 would be the date on which it would be activated.
Pirate signals are blocked
Although LaLiga has not issued any statement in this regard, from the many comments that fill X, it can be deduced that something has changed in recent days. Many Spanish users mention the problems they are having using AceStream and other services that allow them to view illegal content.
The comments accumulate with the same type of mention and talk about how the matches are cut off a few minutes after starting and that it is practically impossible to maintain the signal. What previously happened only in some cases, given that access to AceStream was already in the sights of LaLiga and the operators, is now happening en masse. This would show that the anti-piracy tool, a shield or any other type of concept that is used to define it, would have been activated so that the illegal signals are permanently blocked.
Pirate football and other sports affected
LaLiga’s role in the development of the tool would have been crucial, but once they have put this anti-piracy system in the hands of the operators, it seems that they will not limit themselves to blocking pirated football. Thus, users are posting comments about how illegal signals from other sports have also been flagged and removed.
Thanks to the activation of this system, the battle against piracy could enter its most accelerated phase of action and finally reach that turning point that LaLiga is looking for. These types of measures have already been introduced in other countries and, although there have been some incidents, such as the one we told you about yesterday about Italy, the truth is that they are systems that work. What operators do is block access to pirate pages, services or signals and thus prevent their users from continuing to connect to them.
It must also be taken into account that, in Spain, LaLiga recently obtained judicial authorization to, together with Telefónica, be able to manage the lists of pages to be blocked. This facilitates the process of blocking illegal signals that are detected. However, until now the processes had not been as fast as it seems to be happening at the moment in view of the comments that are being registered online. If before there were pirate IPTV signals that could go unnoticed, now most are being blocked within minutes of starting to be sent to users’ illegal decoders. According to what is said, the maximum periods before a signal drops are between 10 and 15 minutes after the start of the retransmission.
Whether these sports anti-piracy measures are finally effective is something that is decisive for the sports industry and streaming platforms to be able to make their investments profitable. It is known that operators such as Movistar or platforms such as DAZN invest millions of euros in the acquisition of the rights to broadcast league matches. Therefore, they need solid anti-piracy measures that allow them to capture the interest of users interested in watching football. However, as we indicated, you only have to look at the reality of the comments that circulate on the old Twitter to verify that the tool already seems to be working. And that means that pirated football will be banned from all devices, from Kodi, from Smart televisions, from computers, mobile phones and tablets. This could be the end of sports piracy.
