There is no doubt that Spotify is the most used music streaming platform in the world. Its official applications offer us all kinds of functions to personalize the experience and enjoy this content to the fullest.
But it is also true that some of these features take longer than they should, as happens in the case that we will talk about below. At this point it goes without saying that here we find an almost infinite amount of music available in all its subscription models.
Spotify offers us a free subscription but limited in terms of functions, and other paid ones, free of advertising and with certain advantages. But here we want to focus on something that music lovers have been waiting for for years. Actually we are referring to the Super Premium model that the top people responsible for the streaming service have been talking to us about for years.
And it was in 2021 when speculation began about the launch of a Spotify that would offer us music in Hi-Fi quality, that is, in high definition. Surely the most music lovers have had their mouths watering since then, although it seems that this new advanced Spotify is taking a long time to come. It was then that those responsible for the platform promised a subscription model with high-fidelity music. But we are at the end of 2024 and we still don’t know anything.
Those that did react immediately were the competing services offering music in Hi-Fi quality for their subscribers. However, Spotify regulars are still waiting.
When will Spotify Hi-Fi reach users
Once we start talking about this modality that we mentioned in 2021, it seems that the project was temporarily paused. It took two years for the company’s CEO to return to the topic of the expected launch in 2023. Although at that moment it did not clarify things much, he announced that the high definition music subscription would arrive at some point in the future.
Well, we tell you all this because it seems that again, now at the end of 2024, we are talking about Spotify Hi-Fi again. This occurred during a presentation with the company’s shareholders in which the topic reappeared. However, and based on the response provided, everything suggests that the situation is more or less as in previous months. Basically, this means that the head of Spotify still does not give an exact date for the launch.
What it has hinted at, to the joy of some, is that the new type of high-definition music could finally see the light of day in 2025. For this to happen before the end of 2024 is practically impossible. Therefore, based on this latest rather vague information, by the way, we have to continue waiting for the long-awaited Spotify Hi-Fi to finally be launched throughout next year.
