There are several sections that are an important part of the Windows 11 operating system that receive constant criticism. This is something that we have been able to see practically since the launch of Microsoft software, all despite the improvements that the company has included.
Surely most of you do not like the taskbar that we find by default in this version of the system at all. And something similar happens with the start menu that we find by default in Windows 11. It is also true that Microsoft itself tries to provide us with a series of functions and tools to customize these important sections.
Therefore, with this what we want to tell you is that before using external software to modify the Windows interface, we could modify some functions included here. This is precisely the case that we are going to talk to you about in these same lines to configure the aforementioned Windows 11 start menu and make it more useful and functional.
As you can imagine, these configurations, which we are going to carry out in the Windows 11 start menu, are done without third-party applications. All of this is carried out through the different functions that Microsoft itself makes available to us by default in the system.
Changes to the Windows 11 start menu to improve it
Despite the criticism received in recent years, the start menu that we find in the different versions of Windows, for many, is a fundamental element. From here they run a good part of the applications installed on their computers, so they must adapt their operation to the aspect of their own needs, as is the case.
Change its design to add more apps. The default Windows 11 Start menu offers a number of pinned apps and a dynamic section for recommended apps and files. But for many, the space for pinned apps is limited. Thus, we can adjust the layout to give priority to these pinned elements. Simply open Windows Settings and access Personalization. Now we can, in Design, choose the More pins option.
Adds quick access to system folders. By default, the Start menu lacks quick access to important system folders. It must be taken into account that for many users these disk locations are among the most used on a day-to-day basis with the PC. Fortunately, we can add these shortcuts for faster access from the start menu. We achieve this from the Personalization / Home / Folders section of the Settings application. Here we activate the folders that we want to see in this section.
This customization of the Microsoft operating system interface can be extended to other important sections of the software. And in Windows 11, the technological giant offers us various tools with which we can adapt the appearance of the system to our needs or preferences. For example, this is something that also happens in the aforementioned toolbar or the lock screen.
