Tonight, from 6:00 p.m., Spain and Germany will face each other in the quarterfinals of Euro 2024. Only one of the two teams will be able to emerge victorious at the Stuttgart Arena stadium and, to watch the match in the best possible way, it is time to watch the broadcast of the match in 4K quality on the La 1 UHD channel of DTT.
There are different alternatives to enjoy this evening’s match between our national team and the German team, however, if you are at home and want to watch the match via 4K DTT you must take into account a series of points. And as an added bonus, we will explain how to choose the commentators.
What you need to watch La 1 UHD
To start with, Euro 2024 matches are broadcast in 4K on La 1 UHD, so it is the specific DTT channel to turn to if you want to watch the matches in this image quality. However, to be able to watch this channel you have to meet a series of requirements. You need a Smart TV with 4K resolution and a DVB-T2 tuner. On the other hand, it is also recommended that it has HDR, but it is not mandatory.
Another key element is that the antenna in your community or the one you have at home has the necessary module for the frequency on which this channel is broadcast in each province of Spain. If the antenna in question does not have it, you will not have the opportunity to tune in to the TVE UHD channel. And in case you do not have this option, then you will have to choose to watch the match on La 1 in HD. Otherwise, you will only have to retune the TV to watch this 4K channel.
Change the audio of TVE
Once you have La 1 UHD, you may be interested in exchanging TVE’s commentators for RNE’s, that is, the TV audio for the audio from the public channel’s radio. In that case, all you have to do is follow these steps from the Smart TV (they may vary depending on your television):
- Press the settings button on the remote.
- Look for the Audio / Audio Language tab or similar.
- Several options could be considered, at least two alternatives will have to emerge.
- Select the one that says Original Version or a similar option.
- From there, you will listen to the match with the RNE radio commentators.
What this means is that the television audio is replaced by the radio audio. Therefore, the match commentators will be those who are commenting on the match on RTVE’s National Radio.
Out and about on your mobile, but without 4K
If you’re away from home when Spain vs. Germany is playing at 6:00 p.m., you can watch the game online from your mobile phone. All you have to do is use TVE’s RTVE Play platform from its website, so you don’t even have to download its app.
