It is a train that has started and it seems that it is not going to stop, we are talking about Artificial Intelligence. Hence, the main technology companies are trying to make their place in this sector that will give a lot to talk about in the coming months and years.
Surely many of you have already heard about, and even tried, the OpenAI chatbot on more than one occasion. Perhaps the most popular at the moment, we are referring to ChatGPT. Hence, many companies that are entering this technological sector want to compete directly with this aforementioned proposal.
It seems that soon it will have another serious competitor that in this case comes to us from the e-commerce giant, we are referring to Amazon. And it will soon make its new chatbot, which it has called Metis, available to everyone. First of all, we must keep in mind that this new platform will not be launched to be part of Alexa devices. The main objective of the online store is to compete face to face with the aforementioned ChatGPT.
To give you a better idea, we find an AI that works through Amazon’s own language model, Olympus. The truth is that at the moment not many details have been released about its internal functioning or everything that Metis will be able to offer us.
What there is no doubt at first is that it will have the capacity to offer results in the form of texts and images from the previously established prompts.
What Metis, Amazon’s AI, will offer
Basically, this means that Artificial Intelligence will be able to offer us answers of all kinds, and generate images automatically. As we say, not many details are known, but it is known that Metis will be able to use external data apart from that used in its training with the aforementioned Olympus language. First of all, we must make it clear that this specific language model is much more powerful than the previous one from the firm itself, Titan.
It is also interesting to know that this new AI will be able to collect data that we can later use in our queries. What there is no doubt is that for the moment this is Amazon’s big bet to compete with other chatbots directly, just as happens with the proposals from OpenAI or Microsoft.
At least he hopes that its acceptance and use will be greater than Amazon Q, the AI for companies that at the moment does not seem to have the acceptance initially expected.
While waiting for the e-commerce giant to publicly launch this proposal focused on Artificial Intelligence, at the moment it is not releasing too many details. What there is no doubt is that it wants to enter this important future market related to AI to compete head to head with the main current proposals in the form of chatbots.
To finish, we will tell you that everything indicates that its staging will be next September, at which time Amazon will reveal much more about this proposal.
