2023 is going to be a difficult year for streaming. And not only because of the increase in the price of streaming platforms such as Netflix or HBO, but also because of the increasingly radical crusade that certain companies carry out with everything that is not to their liking. In the case of streaming football, we have already seen DNS blocks by ISPs and orders to block websites at the Google level. Now, to start the new year, LaLiga has sent a new order to delete a popular streaming app: IPTV Smarters Pro.
In 2022, LaLiga started a war against more than 20 IPTV services, and more than 30 streaming websites, in order to end illegal football broadcasts over the Internet. In addition to attacking all these sites, the company also attacked more than 80 harmless video players, both from PC and from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store. Of course, we cannot forget that, in their crusade, large websites that have nothing to do with football, such as TDTChannels, have also fallen, demonstrating how aggressive LaLiga is in this battle.
Today, as we can read in torrentfreak, LaLiga has plans to continue its war against all those websites and all those applications and platforms that are not to their liking. Thus, this company has requested a court order for Google to remove the IPTV Smarters Pro app from the Google Play Store.
What’s wrong with this? The closure of any football streaming platform is more than justified. Ignorance is bold though, and just like TDTChannels had nothing to do with football, neither did IPTV Smarters Pro. Those responsible for this app are simply software developers, they do not sell subscriptions or any type of content, just an app. Although organizations like LaLiga, the Premier League or Serie A think that all IPTV is illegal, in reality this is only the smallest part of everything that is done with streaming.
Closing this app would be, for example, like asking to close VLC, which also allows you to load IPTV lists. Unfortunately, when LaLiga puts something between their eyebrows, sooner or later, one way or another, it will fall. So, while we can, it is better to get a copy of the app, and keep it safe.
Download IPTV Smarters Pro
At this time, the app has already been removed from the Google Play Store. Therefore, users who have previously downloaded it will have it on their devices, but those who do not have it will no longer be able to download it. At least from the Google store.
If we use alternative stores, such as APTOIDE, we can continue downloading the application and using it without any problem. The same thing happens if we search for the APK on any other page and install it by hand (though, taking care not to download malware).
Lastly, the IPTV Smarters Pro website it’s still working. In it we can find the video player for Android, iOS, Windows, macOS and all types of Smart TV. In addition, Smarters Player Lite, a minimalist version of this app, is still available in the Google Play Store.
