Vodafone strengthens its network in coastal areas and launches 5G on 80 Spanish beaches

The arrival of summer is one of the key moments for operators, especially in coastal areas, when there are more crowds and it is necessary to improve the infrastructure to continue offering the maximum speed in the data service. Vodafone has just gone a step further, reinforcing its 5G network in almost 200 coastal municipalities in our country.

The Coast zones of our country are preparing to welcome tourists who come from all over the world to enjoy our beaches. From Vodafone, with the aim of offering a better service in these areas, has announced a reinforcement of its mobile telephone network in almost 200 coastal municipalities in our territory.

With this move, the company is preparing to continue offering its customers everything they need in terms of connectivity, even in areas where there is expected to be greater crowding.

Vodafone strengthens its network

Vodafone Spain already announced last June its intention to offer 5G coverage to more than 82% of the population by the end of 2024. Including a total of 2,700 municipalities, exceeding the deployment obligations to which the operator had committed.

The company recently issued a statement in which it claims to have reinforced its network in 196 coastal municipalities in 10 autonomous communities. With this move, it is working to provide the best possible experience in terms of connectivity and speed to its customers during the summer season.

Vodafone has also reported that in some regions the increase in 5G coverage reaches up to 38%. A good demonstration of the effort that the company has made to improve the coverage of their networks in those geographical points that so required.

Of the total number of municipalities, 80 of them will be able to enjoy 5G connectivity for the first time on its beaches. While the remaining 116 have reinforced their 5G network to increase their coverage. The Canary Islands occupy a more than prominent role In this deployment, adding 22 new coastal areas to its fifth-generation coverage network.

With this move, the Canary Islands becomes the community with the most coastal municipalities with 5G in Spain, reaching 34. Andalusia, for its part, is also consolidated as the community in which the most 5G coverage has been deployed.

Voice over 4G and 5G

The red operator has also reported that the 4G network already reaches 99.62% of the population. Currently, the company offers voice over 4G and 5G technology to 70% of the population, allowing its users to enjoy high-definition audio quality and a faster connection at no additional cost.

Over the last few years, Vodafone Spain has invested more than 2.3 billion on its mobile network, with a special focus on 5G networks. The arrival of summer always represents a challenge for operators, who need to continue offering their connectivity services to their consumers, even in situations where there is greater crowding, when the capacity of the networks is usually more compromised.

With these moves, Vodafone responds to MasOrange, which just a few days ago announced that 90% of Spanish beaches could already enjoy the 5G network. Taking the better connectivity also during our holidays.
