If you have an air conditioner and a fan in your home, it’s time to find out what the difference in consumption is between the two products. This way you’ll be able to get an idea of ​​how much they consume, especially if you want to spend less on your electricity bill.
It is clear that both devices do not consume the same amount, but how much does each consume? In this way, users will be able to better control the use they make of these devices when trying to cool down during the summer. What must be taken into account is that simply knowing what the consumption is can make a difference. For example, you can know how long you can leave it on, if you need to raise or lower the temperature, among other aspects.
What uses more electricity?
First of all, it is clear that not all appliances consume the same amount. You can have an air conditioner at home that uses more or less electricity, just like with fans. To start with, for example, if you have a split-type air conditioner, it can consume around 1,000 Wh, which is the same as 1 kWh. On the other hand, a normal fan will consume much less. And, on the other hand, air consumption will be higher depending on the age of the model you have at home. However, this will hardly be noticeable with a fan, since the consumption is not that different. If, for example, you have a fan at home that consumes more, it is even difficult for it to exceed 100 Wh. Therefore, in general, the air conditioner consumes more.
Now, how much do you pay on your electricity bill? If the air conditioner has a consumption of 1,000 Wh, and is on for 8 hours, and the cost of electricity is 0.13 euros per kWh. Therefore, the expense would be 1.03 euros. On the part of the fan, if the consumption is 60 Wh, and is also on for 8 hours, the cost to pay is approximately 0.7 euros.
In addition to this, the air conditioner, when it reaches the ideal set temperature, will consume less, it will be about 200 Wh. Therefore, the expense in electricity will be less. That is why it is a big mistake to be constantly turning this device on and off. Basically, because it will be consuming more power.
Can air consume less?

- Set the temperature correctly: choosing the right temperature is a key factor. Ideally, set the air temperature between 23 and 27 degrees. Bear in mind that for every degree less you set, consumption will increase by 7%.

- External factor: another element that is not related to air is the room and the insulation of the house itself. If the cold does not escape, the appliance will reach the set temperature sooner and, therefore, will use less electricity.
