Most of you are fully aware that one of the most used elements of the Windows system is File Explorer. However, it seems that Microsoft does not want to modify this important section too much.
And for years there has been speculation that the software giant was going to make an important change in this component of the operating system. It is true that some minor modifications have been made to adapt the Explorer to current times. An example of all this is now found with two new functions that are going to be added but that almost no one is going to like.
And in order to convince the majority of its users to migrate to the new Windows 11, the company is making all kinds of changes to the system. Now it is the turn of the aforementioned File Explorer, where two new tools of dubious usefulness will be added. This is something that the firm is gradually integrating into the preliminary versions of Windows 11, more specifically in the Dev, Beta and Canary channels.
This is where Microsoft launches its latest work before integrating them into the final and stable version of Windows, this is something that is happening right now with the two functionalities that we mentioned for Explorer. Initially, the aim is to improve the experience with this important element and increase the information on user accounts.
We are talking about two tools that are currently being tested and that will soon arrive in Explorer in stable versions.
This is how Microsoft improves Windows 11 Explorer
To begin, we will tell you that we find a function in the form of personal cards in real time that are included in the aforementioned Explorer. What these new elements actually do is show us data from the active Windows profile every time we place the mouse over a user’s icon, near a file seen here.
At the same time and once these cards are shown, we can see the name of the person along with other options such as starting a call directly.
The truth is that these cards promise a more interactive experience with users and accounts in Windows. The only thing we must take into consideration at this time is that at the moment they are only available in the beta version of the operating system. On the other hand, we are going to find a second novelty in the aforementioned File Explorer.
And by clicking on the profile icon, we will obtain a more detailed view of the information of the active user at that moment. Likewise, at the moment it is only available on the Windows 11 Dev and Canary insider channels.
But despite the usefulness that Microsoft considers these two functions to be in File Explorer, the truth is that they can become quite annoying tools for everyday use. Time will tell if they have the acceptance that the software giant initially thinks.
