It’s coming. The next major update to Windows 11 is just around the corner and users will be able to enjoy many new features on their computers. Microsoft is putting the finishing touches on an edition that will possibly significantly improve the user experience. Now we know the date on which it will arrive.

There is no official statement confirming the arrival of this update, but a post on the Microsoft blog has spilled the beans and leaked, almost by accident, the date. We know, therefore, that this major version of Windows 11, known as 24H2, will reach the computers of users around the world next week.

First optional, then mandatory

Like most Windows 11 updates, it will first be made available to users as an option for those looking to keep their computers up to date. To do so, on September 24, all you have to do is go to Windows Update and check if a new version is available. From then on, in October, this new version will be distributed as a mandatory version for all users of the Microsoft operating system.

Interface of the new version of Microsoft Teams

The leak of this information has occurred, as we said, with a post from Microsoft that was not intended to talk about it directly. In that information, it is mentioned that the integration of Microsoft Copilot with the Microsoft 365 application will be carried out simultaneously with the Windows 11 24H2 update. And then, being the oversight in question, the date of September 24 is provided for the availability of this Copilot integration. Therefore, the arrival of the new version of Windows is indirectly confirmed.

Also, and this is a good thing to keep in mind, after the mandatory Windows 11 24H2 update is released on October 8, the new features will also be available on Windows 10 computers a little later.

What’s new?

There are several features and tools that will be added to polish up Windows 11 and make the operating system perform better. For example, a new version of Microsoft Teams will be released to replace the current one and will provide important improvements, such as being able to use different accounts in the program. In addition, Microsoft has also made efforts to improve the speed of the application so that performance is better.

Another new feature is the Voice Clarity feature, which was previously only available for devices in the Surface range. Now Microsoft wants to make the feature available to all users, so we can benefit from it without exception. This system uses artificial intelligence to improve the sound on the computer. To do this, the sound is polished, the echo effect is eliminated, other noises that may be bothersome are reduced and the sound signal is clarified so that everything leaves a better feeling.

Sudo for Windows 11 Environment on Microsoft System

On the other hand, the Windows 11 24H2 version also introduces the Sudo for Windows tool. Thanks to this technology, you will be able to execute advanced commands. However, keep in mind that this feature is intended for developers. If you are interested in using Sudo, you will have to enter the Settings menu and then access the developers section, where you will find the button to activate Sudo. Once inside, developers will be able to access different ways to execute commands more comfortably and additional functions compared to what the system offered until now.

Other new features in this update include a new version of Outlook, a major performance boost for Ryzen PCs, and the addition of WiFi 7 support. There are also plenty of AI features and improvements to overall PC performance. Speaking of AI, we’ll now be able to remove backgrounds from our images in the Photos app, as well as use a number of other perks. The only thing to keep in mind is that some PCs, such as those with AMD and Intel cores, won’t have access to all of the AI features, at least for now. Aside from that, there’s no doubt that this is a Windows update that’s going to hit the big time.
