The huge Windows 11 update in 2024 is being a real mess. It is true that it includes several features and improvements that increase interaction with many applications, but it is also true that they have been marred by a large number of reports from users, who only experience problems that cause real headaches. On this occasion, a failure has been identified in one of the most important functions of the Microsoft operating system. Luckily, there is a solution.
It seems that the North American company is not on track and the anger of the Windows 11 community has resonated in all corners. No wonder, after the long-awaited Windows 11 24H2 update caused quite a bit of havoc during its launch on October 2. And there are already several accumulated failures.
One of the ones that has caused the most stir in recent days is related to the reappearance of the famous blue screen of death, which affects some of the computers. Consequently, other types of errors have been detected corresponding to inactive Internet connections, cache files that cannot be deleted or even mouse pointers that disappear.
Now, we give way to another serious error that has its users worried and that is a real misfortune, since it is one of the most used Windows 11 applications: the clipboard history.
What happens to Windows 11 clipboard history?
Surely you’ve probably used it to perform some sporadic task, but in other cases it is often used more than you think. The clipboard history is one of the best-known functions of Windows 11 that is responsible for keeping all the copies of text and images that you have selected stored, with the main objective that you can later have on hand what was manually saved. This makes it easier for you to recover documents that you previously copied.
Likewise, this indispensable tool was first introduced in the October 2018 update, when at that time the main operating system was Windows 10. However, with Windows 11, other incentives were added, such as the possibility of viewing GIF files recently used.

The worst of all is that members of the Windows Insider beta program already requested the problem be repaired months ago, but Microsoft has turned a deaf ear and with the release of the official patch today it is not resolved.
Solve the problem with a few simple steps
As we have mentioned, the hardware and software company has not yet commented on a possible solution, so we have no choice but to try to solve it by other means. Fortunately, it is possible to solve the problem with the following instructions:
- First, go to the Settings menu, choose System and then Clipboard. Toggle the clipboard checkbox on and off.
- In the same section, disable Suggested Actions.
- Use the shortcut Windows + V to open the clipboard history and enable Suggested Actions again.
If these steps didn’t help you, you can try turning the Clipboard feature on and off, and then turning Clipboard History Sync on or off on all devices. This way, you will be able to access all your copies again.
