On June 26, Microsoft released the KB5039302 update for Windows 11, a non-security-related update that users could optionally install before its release through Windows Update, a release scheduled for within a week.

On June 28, Microsoft announced the withdrawal of its servers as a large number of users were experiencing problems in the form of reboot loops. This issue mainly affected users using nested virtualization software such as DevBox and CloudPC among others.

As stated by Microsoft in the statement where it reported the reason for the withdrawal, users of the Home version of Windows 11 were not affected, since it lacks support for native virtualization software through Hyper-V, which seems be the source of the problem.

The only solution to get out of the reboot loop is to enter Windows recovery mode and uninstall the last installed update, with Windows 11 number KB5039302.

A few hours ago, Microsoft released this same update again, an update compatible with version 22H2 and 23H2 of Windows 11, an update that fixes another problem related to it, a problem that fortunately has only affected Windows 11 N users specifically with the taskbar, a version of Windows intended for computers where only applications available in the Microsoft Store can be installed.

Microsoft states that this new version of this update is intended for all devices in the same way that the previous one was already available, from the section Get the latest updates as soon as they are available, as long as they were not affected by the loop. reboots, so if you have already suffered from the reboot problem, Microsoft says it should appear through Windows Update.

Windows update

The update returns without solving the problem

The reason why Microsoft has decided to re-release this update, even if it is optional, without fixing the reboot problem that it caused at launch, makes no sense, as long as, as we have mentioned above, Windows is able to detect the version of Windows that use Hyper-V to virtualize machines (Pro, Enterprise and Education versions) and skip it directly, that is, it does not allow you to download it, even though it is an optional update.

As we mentioned in the article where we informed you about the problem caused by this update, the KB5039302 update includes new features not related to the security of the device, but with functions such as new emojis, the return of the Show desktop button, the possibility of compressing files in 7-Zip and TAR formats, as well as solving a problem with the screen recording function of the Snipping Tool application, a function that caused sound cuts.

If you do not want to have operating problems with your PC, it is important that you stay away not only from the beta program, but also from the function that allows you to download new features before their release through Windows Update. In this way, we will avoid this type of problems.

If we take into account that this update should be launched next week through Windows Update, if you want to enjoy the news that we have mentioned, it doesn’t hurt to be patient and thus avoid any operating problems that this new version may present. of the update.
