The technology market is preparing for the future launch of Windows 12, which could arrive soon or, at least, begin to show its first details. Until then, we begin to discover what this next generation of Microsoft’s operating system would have a chance to be. Will it become the answer to all the doubts that Windows 11 still raises?
Windows 10 support will end sooner than we could imagine. This means that the timing of Windows 11 is also accelerating and that the day when we start talking about generational change will end up arriving sooner or later. In parallel, there are those who are visualizing what Windows 12 could be like when it hits the market.
What if Windows 12 was like this?
From Beta News we find a new design proposal that comes from the hand of an expert known as Nepnus, who offers his own vision about the future of Windows 12. What we find, as you can see in the experimental video that We show you, it is a version of the operating system that stands out for its design and features.
The first thing that can be seen is that the taskbar has an important series of similarities with Windows 11, having made a series of design changes. The most characteristic thing is that a series of rounded edges have been introduced that make the interface a more stylized environment. In addition to this, we can find a floating bar that is placed at the top of the Search and Start menu. In another vein, the Start menu has a much more stylized design than we could have imagined, leaving the main part of the space to an element that is expected to become more important: artificial intelligence.
Windows AI seems to have, at least according to this forecast, an enormous relevance in the use of the next version of the operating system. Although the market could experience important future changes and we have no knowledge of what the development of AI will be in the future, for now, Windows 12 could focus on the use of artificial intelligence. At least, this Nepnus design does provide the operating system with an important bet regarding AI.
Along with that, other elements that we also see in the use of this version of Windows include floating widgets that could give notable utility to the operating system. On the other hand, the Settings menu has also received a notable change that could respond, among other things, to the requests that users have been making over the last few years.
What could Microsoft have in store?
Time passes. Microsoft is preparing to say goodbye to Windows 10, something that will happen in 2025 no matter how much the support period can be extended. In the case of Windows 11, the operating system was launched in 2021 and, therefore, we are getting closer and closer to the day when it also receives a generational replacement. Until then, there is still time left, but for now it is logical that, in the Microsoft offices, they are already thinking about the next version of the platform, especially because Windows 11 has not yet caught on among the user community.
By the time Windows 12 arrives, if the popularity of Windows 11 does not improve, it would be possible for the community to blindly jump to the next version of the platform. For that to happen and to avoid a delicate situation, Microsoft will have to make sure to create Windows 12 with great performance and all the functions that users need. Until then, it wouldn’t hurt for Microsoft designers to take into account some details of designs like Nepnus’.
