You could see it coming: this streaming platform renews one of its biggest blockbusters for a second season

The world of streaming has become a true entertainment center for many homes, since watching your favorite series and movies from the sofa at home with just a couple of clicks is a joy. But the content they offer us can last over time by adding new seasons or installments as sequels and prequels, if they see that it has achieved sufficient popularity. In the case that concerns us, this has been the case.

When a series is successful, it shows. And when something is fashionable, too. Does the so-called MonsterVerse sound familiar to you? This saga, which began with the remake of Godzilla back in 2014, has spread to the point of forming a conglomerate of feature films that have been very well received, especially the latest film, Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire, which we will talk about in the following lines.

And this universe of monsters is stronger than ever, so it has been announced that new adventures of these two emblematic characters from the world of cinema will come to light through more series and films. The person in charge of carrying out the investment of one of the most successful blockbusters in recent months will be Apple TV+, with the second season of Monarch: The Legacy of the Monsters, which is stringing together a series of triumphs.

What to expect from season 2 of Monarch: Legacy of the Monsters?

Apple TV+ has confirmed that Monarch: Legacy of the Monsters will have a second season in which we will follow the experiences of two brothers from the same father in events that took place shortly after Godzilla’s attack in 2014. Their connection with the secret company, known as Monarch, leads them to find out juicy information about their father’s past and the investigation into the nest of monsters emerging from the earth.

Thus, the next season of Monarch: Legacy of the Monsters will be produced by producers Chris Black, Marr Fraction and other members on behalf of Toho Co., Ltd., which today owns the rights to Godzilla.

Will there be more MonsterVerse?

After the resounding success of Godzilla and Kong: The New Empire in theaters around the world, even surpassing Dune: Part 2 with a gross of more than 365 million dollars (just over 3 million euros in Spain), now The machinery has been put in motion to create a new batch of productions full of visual effects in order to further extend the plot of the MonsterVerse, in addition to the second season of the series itself.

It is expected that Apple TV+ will continue to be in charge of broadcasting future installments of the franchise with more spin-offs of monsters and kaijus that have appeared in recent films and series.

At the moment, nothing has been confirmed in this regard, so all that remains is to enjoy the content we currently have. One detail to keep in mind is that Apple TV+ does not have the title Godzilla vs. Kong, since it is only found on Netflix and HBO Max. It may be that in a matter of time it will join the Cupertino application, since it is the one chosen to project this universe via streaming.
