To celebrate the birth of the legendary Kawasaki Z1 900 from 1972, the first superbike in history, the Akashi brand launches 4 special versions, the Kawasaki Z 50th Anniversary, which are already on sale in our country.

The Akashi brand has just announced that these special versions are already on sale, so you can go to your dealer now because these special Kawasaki Z 50th Anniversary versions will not be available next year…

These special versions are the Z900, Z900RS, Z650 and Z650RS, decorated with exclusive colors and details, which transport us to the 70s and 80s.

They are models with new decorations, but without any technical change of weight. Just some extra components, some logos and all the nostalgia of Kawasaki models from a few decades ago.

Thus, all of them incorporate a special “Z 50th” logo, and are divided into two chromatic versions. Some are from the seventies (the RS versions) and others from the eighties (the base versions).

And they come with an extra little gift, a wonderful commemorative book of the Z saga, and that will only be available to buyers of one of these 50th Anniversary.

The Z900RS and Z650RS, due to their neo-retro status, are the most special and beautiful, as they are the authentic replica of the 1972 Z1 900, taking its dual tone and the Fireball tank graphic in Candy Brown and red.

In addition, they also take their gloss black painted chassis and equip the Z1’s chrome tube passenger grab handle, with the added bonus of a more retro seat still made in leather.

And there is more because the Z900RS sports a plate on its sides with the figure that refers to its cylinder capacity, “900”, and under it the name “Double Over Head Cam” -double overhead camshaft-, exactly identical to the from the ’72 Z1 900. Simply magnificent.

The Z650RS also has this plate, but instead of “900”, it obviously has a “650”. And the DOHC acronyms are not missing on the crankcases, as in the past. You might have already guessed that this DOHC is proudly displayed all over the bike, because the Z1 was the first stock superbike with dual overhead cams.

These 50th Anniversary Z versions commemorate the birth of the 1972 Kawasaki Z1

As for the Z650 and Z900 50th edition, they take another course, and that is that they are inspired by the GPz 750/1100 of the 80s. They have the same red color, Firecracker Red -even on the rims-, finished off with dark blue stickers and silver, as in the GPz, and make and model in gold.

A special leather seat and the “Z 50th” logo are not missing. Fabulous! As we liked the GPz 750 and 1100 of the 80’s.

Another magnificent version that transports you to the 80s and the beastly GPz that we miss so much. And for A2 license holders, the Z 900 will also be available in a depowered version with 48 hp.

All of them are accompanied by an extra gift: a book about the history of the Z saga
