Volvo has unveiled new updates with a refreshed exterior for its all-electric XC40 Recharge and a single-engine variant for the C40 Recharge.
The structure has also been simplified to reduce complexity by focusing on preselected variants without many optional elements that can be added later.
To reinforce the design of the XC40, the designers have revised the front bumper and added a frameless grille guard, maintaining the visual synchronicity of the XC40 Recharge and Volvo C40 Recharge and harmonizing the two vehicles that symbolize Volvo Cars’ path to electrification. .
Thor’s hammer headlamps are optimized with pixel LED technology that automatically adjusts to the traffic conditions ahead and illuminates the road ahead without dazzling other drivers.
Additionally, customers will have premium non-leather upholstery options on the electric XC40 Recharge, as well as new exterior colors and wheels that will expand personalization options.
In addition to the twin-motor model, Volvo has also introduced a single electric motor variant of the 100% electric C40 Recharge, expanding its offering and continuing its goal of getting more people to opt for this type of vehicle.
The new single-motor, front-wheel drive C40 expands the brand’s range of electric models to four and is a further step towards its goal of selling only pure electric vehicles by 2030.
The single-motor C40 Recharge has a 69 kWh battery and an expected range of around 434 km on a single charge based on the WLTP cycle. With a fast charging system, the battery level can go from 10 to 80% in 32 minutes.
