Don’t miss the second week of pre-season testing.

The Formula 1 preseason continues at the Sakhir Circuit, in Bahrain, with three days in which the drivers and teams will work to fine-tune their cars for the 2022 course. Unlike Barcelona, this time the tests will be possible follow on television and live from Spain, and there will also be Live Timing.

The reason for this difference is that Bahrain has paid to host the official pre-season training sessions, while the Barcelona tests were called ‘shakedown’, even though they were really the first three days of testing… and the teams they treated them as such.

In Barcelona many doubts arose about which team will lead in the new regulations of the premier category. Although Mercedes set the best times, other teams like Red Bull, McLaren or Ferrari left very good feelings. No one dares to guess where each one will be, nor where Fernando Alonso and Alpine will be.

In these three days of testing, which also take place on the circuit where the season will start in just over a week, we should have a clearer picture of which team will set the pace in this new era or, at least, who has got it right and who has done less.

Schedules and how to watch the F1 tests on DAZN

The F1 Bahrain 2022 tests can be followed live on DAZN. The streaming platform will broadcast each of the three training days, which take place between 08:00 a.m. and 12:00 noon, and later between 1:00 p.m. and 5:00 p.m. in the afternoon.

Miguel Portillo will be in charge of giving voice to what happens on the track, accompanied by journalists or pilots such as Cristóbal Rosaleny or Roldán Rodríguez. Albert Fábrega is at the circuit and, as he already did in Barcelona, he will be in charge of making a summary that will be broadcast at 9:00 p.m. and also reporting from the pit-lane.

This time, as we have seen in other years, a Live Timing is available (access here) in which the times can be followed live.

Day 1

French driver Pierre Gasly led the first day of practice in Bahrain with a time of 1:33.902, with which he beat Carlos Sainz by four tenths and his teammate Charles Leclerc by six.

Mercedes and Williams were the protagonists of the day by introducing important updates to their cars, although they did not manage to place themselves among the top positions in the time table.

Fernando Alonso starred in a duel with Lance Stroll, although he could only do 24 laps due to a series of mechanical problems that weighed down the Alpine A522.
