Ferrari drivers go to the movies.
Being a Formula 1 driver, many times, involves participating in activities that have little to do with going fast in a racing car, although this does not stop them from being exciting. Ferrari driver Carlos Sainz has participated in the dubbing of the Pixar film “Lightyear” and will voice one of the characters, whose identity has not yet been revealed.
The film, which will be released in Spain on June 17, tells the story of Buzz Lightyear, the character from the well-known film Toy Story, who came to the big screen in 1995 to become one of the classics of animated cinema.
Carlos has not been the only pilot who has participated in the dubbing of Toy Story, since his partner, the Monegasque Charles Leclerc, has voiced the same character as the Madrid native, although he has done it in Italian.
“Hello everyone, I’m Carlos Sainz. I would like to tell you that in the next movie “Lightyear” by Disney Pixar. I will be dubbing the movie, so stay tuned to see if you discover me. A hug!” Sainz said in a video published by Disney on its official social networks.

His partner, Leclerc, explained that “this experience has been completely different to what I have done in the past. It is much more difficult than I thought. It has been a great experience and I am looking forward to seeing the final result.”
It is not the first time that Formula 1 drivers have participated in the dubbing of an animated film. A few years ago, Fernando Alonso, Michael Schumacher, Carmen Jordá, Lewis Hamilton or Sebastian Vettel were in charge of giving voice to characters from the movie ‘Cars’ in several of its editions… and, of course, Antonio Lobato acted as narrator.
