Pérez’s celebration goes viral on the internet.
Every Formula 1 driver dreams of winning the Monaco Grand Prix, the most special race on the premier class calendar, at some point in his life. Sergio Pérez achieved the long-awaited victory last Sunday in a chaotic race in which he made no mistakes and, after getting off the podium and participating in the relevant commitments with the team and F1, he celebrated in style.
Although a few years ago we would not have even known about it, nowadays anyone can capture and publish a video on the internet that later ends up going viral on social networks. Something like this is what has happened to ‘Checo’ Pérez, who was ‘hunted’ on the Monday after the race going down – with serious difficulties – the stairs of a boat.
Pérez’s celebration began right after he got out of the car, on the most characteristic podium of the F1 World Championship. Later, the Mexican jumped into the pool in Monaco along with his engineers, and from then on he lost track … but he had a great time, judging by the images that have come to light.

In addition to the triumph in the streets of the Principality, there was much more to celebrate. Checo, with his third victory in Formula 1, became this Sunday the most successful Mexican driver in the category, surpassing his compatriot Pedro Rodríguez. And, although we would not know it until two days later, Pérez had just renewed for two more years as a Red Bull driver, until 2024.
For a driver who at the end of 2020 was out of F1 when he was fired by Racing Point and before being hired in extremis by Red Bull to replace Alex Albon, this renewal is a guarantee of victory at this time, since he has a car with which he can fight for first place and, if they let him beat Verstappen (and he has the necessary speed), for the title.
Pérez, who was also a father for the third time during the month of May, already showed during the Spanish GP that he could fight for Max, although he had to let him pass on the track due to team orders, and had to settle for the second step of the podium. After Monaco comes Azerbaijan in just over a week, a magical place for Checo too, since he achieved his first victory there last year.
