Fiat launches the fifth generation of the Doblò, both in a passenger version (only as an electric e-Doblò variant) and in industrial versions, in this case also with diesel and gasoline combustion engines and under the Fiat Professional brand. These new vans follow in the footsteps of their older brothers, the e-Ulysse and the e-Scudo, and derive from existing models within the Stellantis group. Specifically, these Doblò are the fifth variation of the group’s light vans, which are also sold under the Citroën (Berlingo), Peugeot (Partner and Rifter), Opel (Combo) and Toyota (Proace City) brands. It must be remembered that, although Toyota is not part of the group, it has an agreement with Stellantis and is the only brand of those mentioned that sells versions with a thermal engine of the passenger variant.
The industrial Doblò is put up for sale in two lengths and in three different configurations (VAN, Crew Cab and Combi, which are respectively equivalent to a two-seater vehicle with a paneled side, a 5-seater with a semi-glazed side and a fully glazed passenger compartment, but with less equipment than the e-Doblò passenger version and with double rear hinged door). The VAN version is available with the Grip Control system that improves grip in slippery conditions.
Cargo versions can have a 3-seater bench seat in the first row that can be folded to increase cargo volume by 0.5 m3 and increase longitudinal space by up to 3.4 m in length. Among the equipment that can be mounted on this vehicle are a 5-inch digital rearview mirror that offers 3 different views, a central seat that can be converted into a table or a plug in the electric versions in which to connect electric work tools.
These vehicles are capable of carrying up to 800 kg, have an interior capacity for two euro-pallets and the long version supports up to 4.4 m3 of cargo. They are available with two 100 or 130 horsepower 1.5-litre diesel engines, in the first case with manual transmission and in the second with manual or automatic transmission and in a 1.2-litre, 110-horsepower petrol version. The e-Doblò electric version has a 136 horsepower motor and a 50 kWh battery with which it homologates a range of 280 km in the WLTP cycle.
The electric-only passenger version will initially be launched only in the short 5-seater variant with 3 individual seats in the second row equipped with 3 isofix anchors. Among the equipment options, it is worth highlighting the independent opening of the rear window, the roof with windows and Magic Top storage compartments and the 180º vision camera. All passenger units are equipped as standard with signal recognition, emergency braking assistant, lane keeping assistant and driver alert warning.
The new Doblò and e-Doblò will be on sale soon and will be manufactured together with their siblings from the other four brands mentioned at the Stellantis group plant in the Galician town of Vigo.
