Summer vacations are approaching, trips to the beach, to the mountains, as a couple, with family, with friends… It’s time to enjoy and disconnect but watch out! If you don’t plan it well, they can even become a headache. Is our car prepared to withstand a trip of 500 km, loaded and with 5 occupants (for example)?
There are more and more people and families who accept the fact of renting or subscribing to a car, either for the summer months or even for the whole year, which provides enough space for these large trips or, failing that, fun at steering wheel.
We have taken a tour of our renting and subscription section to browse interesting options that could be adapted to your needs.
- Cars by subscription, what does this modality consist of?
The cheapest ones
From €229/month you could access a Citroën C3. A small, comfortable car that spends very little on its 83 hp gasoline engine and is more than enough to move alone or with a partner.
For a little more, from €272/month, there is a very interesting option: the Skoda Fabia Combi. A utility vehicle with a family body, with a large trunk, and another 75 hp “motor” that may be enough for day-to-day use, but fair enough if we are going to make good use of its cargo capacity in the trunk.
For less than €300/month (from €295/month) the third option that we propose is a Seat Ibiza with 110 CV gasoline mechanics. The Ibiza is a slightly more dynamic car than the Citroën C3 and the Fabia, and in this case with a more powerful engine.
Utility SUVs are slightly more expensive than these. For just over €325/month we can access a Kia Stonic or a Seat Arona.
our choice
From €335/month we have found a Peugeot 3008 diesel with 130 hp. The 3008 is a compact SUV that is very comfortable and spacious inside. It is a great car to travel thanks to its trunk of more than 500 liters of capacity and rear seats with good legroom.
From €344/month we have seen a gasoline Volkswagen Golf with 115 hp. What to say about the Golf, one of the most popular cars in history. Reliable, well finished, comfortable and, in this case, with a three-cylinder mechanics that spends really little. For €1 more, there is another variant with the 150 hp 1.4 TSI mechanics that will surely provide greater sensations at the wheel.
From €370/month one of the best options we have found: a Volkswagen Passat Variant. A family for the whole family, with a huge 650-litre trunk to load everything you need. The only downside is that its 120 hp with a diesel engine could fall short on occasion.
Kia Sportage (from €380/month) and Nissan Qashqai (from €383/month) would be two other good alternatives.
