OX Motorcycles, specialist in the manufacture of electric motorcycles, expands its offer with an unprecedented model; the new OX Patagonia. Based on the OX One model but with a dual philosophy, as suitable for use on asphalt as off it, it has been duly adapted and equipped for off-road driving. All this, of course, without giving up its renowned electric propulsion with the aim of shaping a new generation of more ecological and sustainable adventurous motorcycles.OX Patagonia – 2022

Little by little, electric mobility is gaining in diversity of choice, proposing different ways of facing new challenges and possibilities of use, which are not always limited to the urban area. One of the most recent novelties in the sector is the Spanish OX Patagonia, developed from one of the most successful models in its range, the OX One, and with which it shares a large part of its technical equipment and design.

An excellent starting point on which OX Motorcycles engineers have applied a series of improvements to achieve better off-road performance, such as an improved chassis in terms of design and ergonomics by increasing its height (minimum distance to the ground of 180 mm), give it a longer wheelbase (1,480 mm), integrate long-travel suspensions and modify its driving position to favor greater control in off-road driving.

Obviously, all this has been reinforced from the technical side, where the most obvious change is 19 and 17-inch spoked wheels -very off-road measurements-, accompanied by studded tires that significantly improve their grip on the ground. Likewise, as we have already mentioned, an inverted fork and a double shock absorber with greater travel and adjustable are integrated into the suspension section, and, in brakes, a disc on each axle assisted by a CBS brake distribution system.

At the propulsion level, the OX Patagonia mounts a QS motor in the hub of the rear wheel, this has a nominal power of 6kW and a peak power of up to 11kW, which fully places it in the A1 license category -you can driving with a car license In addition, thanks to its location, it does not require a transmission system, which eliminates maintenance and reduces noise and weight, allowing for much more efficient and sustainable driving. Likewise, the Patagonia will have up to 4 driving modes (Adventure, ECO, Urban and Sport) to adapt to all kinds of situations, although the maximum speed reached will always be 110 km/h.

To power this entire system, the Patagonia will come equipped with a 72V, 60Ah removable lithium-ferrophosphate battery, made up of CATL cells. This gives us a range of 100 km and has a weight of 22kg. When recharging it, we can extract it through the upper part of the tank or plug it directly into a conventional outlet. Charging is done through a 72V – 10Ah charger and takes about 5 hours.

From the point of view of the standard equipment, the OX Patagonia will also enjoy a series of original components in tune with its Adventure style, such as side protections, saddlebags made of leather with 14L capacity and a dome and a grille on its headlight. Front LED It will also have a glove box with space to store small objects inside which includes a USB charging socket to recharge electronic devices, and, as an instrument panel, an LCD screen full of information, including all kinds of details about the vehicle. real-time bike operation.

As if that were not enough, OX Motorcycles also offers us ELISA software, designed by the brand itself and that integrates artificial intelligence and IoT. Thanks to it, we will be able to connect any mobile phone and see personalized information about the vehicle and route reflected on the screen at all times. In addition, it incorporates 360 sensors that warn the driver by vibrating the handlebar when a vehicle is dangerously approaching or, also, navigation functions, GPS locator, consumption and driving statistics, warning in the event of an accident or theft and 24H technical assistance.

The new OX Patagonia is now on sale at a price of €6,900 in two colors: Ocher Barrett and Verde Parrish. For more information, points of sale or availability, do not hesitate to visit the official website of the manufacturer by clicking here
