Cupra has presented the most exclusive version of the Cupra León, the so-called VZ CUP, available both in a 245-horsepower plug-in hybrid version and with the 300-horsepower gasoline engine in the 5-door version and 310 in the family SportsTourer, which also has , with four-wheel drive.
Mechanically identical to the versions already available, the new VZ CUPs have 19-inch alloy wheels in black and copper tones, carbon fiber side skirts and rear spoiler (the spoiler only for the compact body), sunroof, semi-slick tires Bridgestone Potenza Race (only on non-plug-in petrol versions) and Brembo brake system with four-piston calipers and 370 x 32mm ventilated and cross-drilled discs.
To complete the customization, the leather-upholstered CUPBucket sports seats are mounted inside, which are located in a lower position and a steering wheel with satellite buttons for starting and for changing the driving mode, while the dashboard is stitched It is also copper colored. All these versions will mount LED matrix headlights as standard. The mentioned seats can be black or blue, have a carbon fiber rear shell and come from the Cupra Formentor VZ5.
The Cupra León VZ CUPs have the pre-collision assistant as standard and side and rear curtain airbags and knee airbags for the driver. The non-hybrid gasoline engine versions are also equipped with a new Beats sound system with 9 speakers, a subwoofer, a 340-watt amplifier and surround technology.
Changes in e-HYBRID versions
The arrival of this new special series with a sportier approach coincides with some improvements in the 204 and 245 hp plug-in hybrid versions (the former cannot have the VZ CUP finish) that have reduced its ground clearance by 25 mm, which improves center of gravity and aerodynamics and that can now optionally mount the Brembo brake system.
