SYM has just launched for the Chinese and Taiwanese market a new 150 cc scooter with a futuristic design and flat platform, the SYM MMBCU.

Its strange name refers to the African snake Mamba, which is why its first three acronyms “MMB”, and the “C” and “U” stand for “Crossover” and “Unique”.

Behind its sharp body marked by its angular front topped with an LED headlight we find a single-cylinder 158 cc, four-valve, liquid-cooled engine.

By the way, this front reminds us a lot of that of the Kawasaki Ninja H2R…

SYM has not provided performance data for the new MMBCU but it is estimated to have a maximum power of 15 hp and 14.6 Nm of torque.

What we do know is that it has a CVT gearbox, belt drive and 13-inch tires measuring 120/70 at the front and 130/70 at the rear.

It also features disc brakes on both wheels assisted by dual-channel Bosch ABS, and a front telescopic fork combined with a preload-adjustable rear monoshock.

Well-appointed

As is the trend in the latest SYM models, the MMBCU will be well equipped with elements as important as traction control.

In the equipment section it incorporates good details such as the automatic engine start and stop system at idle speed, USB charging socket and a complete LCD instrumentation screen.

We know that its declared weight is 136 kg and that it has a space under the large seat of 28 liters capacity that allows you to store a full face helmet.

In the absence of knowing its launch price in the Asian market, the million dollar question is, will we soon see the MMBCU in Europe?
