Today we look at what are the five big changes and something that could have improved the 2023 Range Rover, the new generation of the high-end British SUV.
The fifth generation of the Range Rover was presented almost a year ago. Land Rover’s most exclusive SUV presents a series of important new features that allow it to remain competitive against its fierce German and British competition. However, today we look at what the five big changes are and what the 2023 Range Rover might have changed.
As I was saying, the new generation of the Range Rover was revealed at the end of October last year and is already on sale for a price that starts at 140,950 euros. It is a car at the level of models such as the BMW X7 or the Mercedes GLS that also has nothing to envy other SUVs in the luxury segment such as the Bentley Bentayga.
Today we are going to analyze what its five main novelties are and where we think Land Rover should have innovated a little more to offer an even more innovative product.
Your five big changes
seating configuration
And it is that one of the main novelties, not only in this generation, but in the entire history of the Range Rover is that the new model is available in three configurations of seats that allow it to adapt more and better to the needs of its demanding buyers.
In this way, those interested in buying the Range Rover 2023 will be able to acquire three different configurations for the interior, choosing between a five-seater version, one with three rows of seats and up to seven seats, and a more exclusive one focused on luxury and space. comfort with four seats (the two rear seats are independent).
Engines
Another novelty is found in the engine section. The fifth-generation Range Rover is available with diesel engines that include 48V mild hybrid technology. They are the D300 with 300 hp and the D350, which reaches 350 hp. There is also a gasoline version with a BMW source engine, a 4.4-liter V8 biturbo with 530 hp.
And, in addition, the new model also includes plug-in hybrid versions. On the one hand, the P440e has 440 hp and, on the other, the P510e increases this figure to 510 hp. Both have a 200 hp electric motor and a 38.2 kWh lithium-ion battery with a range of more than 100 kilometers in electric mode.
even bigger
The 2023 Range Rover is also bigger than its predecessor. It is offered in two versions, one with a short wheelbase measuring 5,052 mm in length and another with a long wheelbase (called the Long Wheel Base or LWB) that increases its length to 5,252 mm.
In this way, the new generation is 52 mm longer than its predecessor in either of the two available body versions.
luxury interior
The cabin of the Range Rover 2023 is a space of luxury, comfort and the latest technology. Thus, the driver finds himself with a 13.7-inch digital instrument panel and a 13.1-inch touch screen for the infotainment system. In the rear there are two other 11.4-inch screens mounted on the backs of the front seats.
The rest of the interior features are elements focused on comfort and luxury, such as leather, wood trim, heated seats with electric massage adjustments, zoned air conditioning, high-end finishes and all kinds of comforts for passengers.
Technology
It is precisely in the area of technology that Land Rover has innovated the most with the new Range Rover 2023.
In addition to state-of-the-art driver assistance systems, the new model offers active stabilizer bars, a rear steer axle, and air suspension that automatically adjusts based on navigation data, among other features.
Something I could have changed
Continuity design
However, it should also be noted that the new Range Rover 2023 has not changed at all compared to its predecessor. And it is that, in the style area, the British firm has been somewhat conservative and has opted for a continuous design, that is, based on the previous model but with a slight evolution in its features.
Still, the Range Rover looks like a modern and stylish car, offering a completely new rear end, flush door handles like on the Range Rover Velar or Range Rover Evoque, sculpted volumes and completely clean surfaces.
