Electric bicycles are here to stay and, in a growing market, from time to time original proposals emerge that stand out for a specific reason. In the case of Geo, created by Ossby, which is based in Madrid, there are two aspects that make it stand out.
On the one hand, there are the materials used in its construction, especially with regard to the frame, which is made from a compound of recycled fibers and plant-based resins. To this we must add that elements such as the forks are made of carbon fiber.
The 14-inch front and 16-inch rear wheels, ergonomic grips, front and rear LED lights, and hydraulic disc brakes round out the package.
The lightness of all its components is key to making it the lightest electric bicycle on the market: only 11 kilos. In addition, despite this, it is so resistant as to be able to carry a person of up to 110 kilos. Its compact dimensions also stand out, something that, added to the fact that it is foldable, makes it take up very little space.
It uses a 250W electric motor from the Keyde brand, which is incorporated into the rear wheel hub and can assist pedaling at five different levels of intensity, allowing it to reach only 25 km/h in order to comply with current regulations. Also enjoy a change with five gears to better adapt to the pedaling rhythm.
Currently the Ossby Geo is still in development and the company is in the process of funding on Kickstarter. They have already exceeded their goal of 50,000 euros, so the project will come to fruition.
For now, it can be accessed with a 30% discount on the reservation with which the price drops from 1,899 euros, which will later cost in stores at 1,234 euros. The first deliveries are estimated for June 2023.
