The Iwata brand presented last Friday in Taiwan the Yamaha Augur, a futuristic scooter with curious innovations.
In addition to its innovative design, with a front end featuring three inverted Y-shaped LED daytime running lights, the Augur features an adaptive dual headlight.
Indeed, the new Yamaha has an adaptive cornering headlight, which illuminates the interior of the curve. In addition, the main headlight can change the color temperature depending on weather conditions, such as rain or fog.
Traction control, ABS, navigation, keyless start…
On the other hand, the 4.3” TFT screen instrumentation includes ‘step by step’ navigation and radar warning, connected to the mobile. It also checks the oil level and battery condition. There is a USB 3.0 connection and remote key start.
The engine is the 155 cc LC with VVA variable distribution and traction control, with a power of 15 CV. A consumption of 2.5 l/100 km is declared.
The wheels are both 13”, 120 at the front and 130 at the rear. It has 267 and 230 mm discs in front and behind respectively, and mounts dual-channel ABS.
The platform is flat and the declared weight is 132 kg. It is manufactured in three different finishes: Star Titanium, Dark Black and Arc Blue.
Will the Yamaha Augur come to Europe? Nothing is known about it, although if it did, it could equip the 125 engine of the NMax, for example.
