The main network is already ‘clean’ and all the complications are now on back roads
The worst of the Fien squall is over. If yesterday there were almost 150 roads that were affected to a greater or lesser extent by inclement weather, the latest data provided by the DGT reduces the number of roads affected by the storm to 118.
The State Meteorological Agency (AEMET) indicates that both Fien and the Gerad storm are beginning to subside. For this weekend they announce a domain of high pressure, this will cause the wind to stop and stop raining and snowing; although it will still be cold.

This is good news, although we will still have to wait for all the roads to return to normal operation.
At this time, with updated traffic data, there are 118 roads affected by the Fien squall. They are all secondary roads (the main network is already cleared). The worst is in Cadtilla and León, Aragón and Asturias.

The DGT surveillance cameras show that, at this moment, there are 32 roads in black level, that is, they are completely closed to traffic. On 69 roads the red level has been set, which means that the use of snow chains or winter tires is mandatory.
There are also seven highways where the circulation of trucks and heavy vehicles is prohibited. These are the yellow level ones, which also means that cars cannot go over 60 km/h. While on 10 roads the green alert is maintained, which sets the maximum speed on highways and motorways at 100 km/h and 80 km/h on secondary roads. In this link you have all the information to understand the colors of the snow.

If you live in an area where the storm is still strong, the recommendation is not to use the car if it is not completely necessary.
If you have no choice but to drive, first check the state of the roads you will have to drive on. You can do it at this link where the DGT updates the state of the national road network in real time.
