The Peugeot 408 does not get five stars in EuroNCAP. We are talking about the latest innovation from the lion brand, a crossover with practically no alternatives on the market. The model occupies a privileged place within the range, placing itself between models such as the Peugeot 308 and the Peugeot 3008. And no, it is not an SUV, nor is it a saloon. It has a design that powerfully draws attention. In addition, it is available with both gasoline engines and plug-in hybrid versions.

It is certainly a special car. And it is that it combines two worlds, with a mix between an SUV and a five-door sedan capable of making you fall in love at first sight. The Peugeot brand does not define it in any of these ways, as they prefer to use the word fastback to describe its design. Its aesthetic is based on the latest designs of the brand such as the Peugeot 308.

And although the Peugeot 408 is a car that has an important technological arsenal that includes several driving assistance systems, it does not achieve five stars in EuroNCAP tests. The tests are based on those of the Peugeot 308, and this model was left with four stars in the crash test, receiving 76% in adult safety, and 84% equally when we talk about child occupants. It protects pedestrians by 78% and receives a score of 65% in security systems.

What kind of tests have you faced? As usual, the 308 was subjected to frontal impact, side impact and pedestrian tests, in addition to evaluating its different active safety systems. The model was examined based on equipment with, among others, car-to-car emergency braking, occupant condition monitoring, and lane assist technologies.
