You have until 2025 to save 87 million euros if you want to buy it
The fact that it is zero emissions is, perhaps, the least striking thing about this boat. The Plectrum is a 15,000 CV hydrogen yacht created to be the fastest in its class thanks to its mechanics in combination with the use of lightweight materials.
Everything is impressive around The Plectrum. It measures 74 meters in length and is painted in a metallic orange color that makes it really difficult to go unnoticed.
They say its design is inspired by the America’s Cup boats, but while they rely on the wind to move forward, The Plectrum mounts an advanced hydrogen fuel cell system.
The hydrogen yacht is equipped with three engines, located one in the front and two on the sides. Together they add a power of 15,000 CV thanks to which it can navigate at 75 knots, that is, about 140 km/h.
As we say, the choice of resistant and light materials such as dry carbon fiber and composite materials contribute to their figures. Also noteworthy among its innovations is the fact that the lateral hydrofoils (in which the engines are placed) fold and unfold (in this case adding five meters to the width of the ship) depending on navigation needs.
Interior on four levels
Inside, it is no less impressive. Divided into four levels, it has a main deck with six luxury-equipped cabins for guests plus an even more luxurious master suite for the owners.
There is also space for a swimming pool, a hangar where a helicopter can land, a garage for two auxiliary boats and a rear garage for water toys and a car (which could well be a Toyota Mirai or a Hyundai Nexo, like hydrogen cars).
We only found two drawbacks: the first is that it is not certain that it will go on sale and if it does reach the market it will not be before 2025; the second, that the estimated price distances it from many mortals because it seems that it will cost more than 87 million euros.
