3008 and 5008 are electrified (more).
In the middle of 2023, SUVs are still a trend in Spain, but there is a characteristic that has gained special relevance since the beginning of the year and that makes one model arouse more interest than another: having a DGT label that allows you to wander around the streets without problems. newly released new Low Emission Zones (ZBE).
The brands know this and, therefore, they are making a move accordingly. The last to do so was Peugeot, which has added new micro-hybrid options to two of its models, giving them a highly coveted ECO label and, above all, much cheaper than the ZERO label that its plug-in hybrid variants had, which are the top of the range. .
We are talking about the Peugeot 3008 and Peugeot 5008 which, without having the sales volume of its little brother, also have their place in the market.
The French manufacturer has opted for mild hybridization as an affordable means to provide them with the precious label and, incidentally, reduce the average CO2 emissions of its range.
Both SUVs are no longer available with their 130 hp gasoline engine, which they are now replacing with a micro-hybrid option.
This uses the same 1.2 PureTech block as a base, although with a power of 136 CV and 230 Nm of torque. To this is added a small electric motor integrated into the transmission that provides another 28 CV and 55 Nm.
In addition to the increase in performance (and the DGT ECO label), the main advantage offered by this new engine is fuel savings and a reduction in polluting emissions.
Regarding the first, Peugeot points to 15% savings, especially due to the fact that in certain situations they will be able to drive in 100% electric mode (as if they were self-recharging hybrids).
As for the second, the decrease is an average of 20 g/km: the Peugeot 3008 approves 126 g/km and the Peugeot 5008, 128 g/km.
