The Toyota Corolla Cross, which is not yet officially for sale in Spain, has already released a new range access engine with 140 HP of power.
The Toyota Corolla Cross is called to become the fourth body in the Toyota Corolla range, along with the hatch version, the family (Touring Sports) and the sedan. However, the model is being asked to officially start marketing in Spain, this despite the fact that it has already been announced that the Toyota Corolla Cross launches a new range access engine.
To the European market, the Corolla Cross was announced that it would arrive with a 2.0-liter hybrid engine with 197 HP of power, a mechanism that has just received the updated Corolla. The engine would be linked to a CVT-type automatic transmission and a front- or total-wheel drive system thanks to the incorporation of a second electric motor that does not alter the final power figures.

Now, Toyota has announced that its new SUV will incorporate a second mechanical option to the range and that this will be the access engine. The engine chosen is the non-plug-in hybrid of 1.8 liters and 140 CV, an engine that is also new to the Corolla range after the restyling received just a few months ago. It should be noted that both engines have the DGT ECO environmental label.
The Toyota Corolla Cross is a compact SUV 4.46 meters long that comes to occupy the space available between the RAV4 and the C-HR, being larger than the second and shorter than the first. In this way, the Japanese company can fight face to face with other great successes in the SUV-C segment such as the Hyundai Tucson or the Peugeot 3008.
Of course, it will be equipped with the latest technology and driving assistants, and will have a complete set of connectivity commanded by Toyota’s infotainment system with a touch screen and a digital instrument panel. It also has space for up to five passengers on board and a trunk that should be around 500 liters of volumetric capacity.
Regarding prices, Toyota has not yet revealed details about the Corolla Cross range, nor has it published the specifications of its standard equipment. Of course, it will be somewhat more expensive than the Corolla in any of its three bodies, although we will still have to wait a bit for it to land in dealerships.
