Interior of the 2023 Porsche Cayenne

We’ve met the 2023 Porsche Cayenne in person at a photo studio outside of Stuttgart. It is not a new generation, but a ‘restyling’, but truly profound.

Porsche ensures that they have never introduced so many new features in the second life cycle of a model. And I, who have it right in front of me, I confirm that, although it does not appear to give that impression, the Porsche Cayenne 2023 is completely renewed, especially inside.

First of all, I confirm that this Porsche Cayenne 2023 is still the third generation, that is, the one that was launched in 2018, but it is renewed both in its Cayenne SUV body, as in the case of the Porsche Cayenne Coupé.

Design Changes on the 2023 Porsche Cayenne

We begin, how can it be otherwise, talking about the aesthetics of this 2023 version of the Porsche Cayenne. And, as I was saying, on the outside the changes may not be so obvious. You can remember what the 2018 Cayenne was like in the previous link.

Indeed, the hood, bumper and air intakes do not seem to change much, but the grille now has rectangular shapes and was previously covered by straight sheets. What is appreciated is that it has more arched wings and the headlights are larger and square.

By the way, they have Matrix LED technology as standard and can optionally also be Matrix LED HD.

In addition, the color palette has been expanded with six new colours, lightweight sports packages that save up to 33 kilograms on the Cayenne Coupé and a wide range of 20-, 21- and 22-inch wheels that allow the new Cayenne to be individually and dynamically configured. .

At the rear, one of the novelties is that the license plate holder is now integrated into the bumper and the rear lights have a three-dimensional design. In general, it gives the impression of having more uncluttered surfaces.

Mechanical range of the Cayenne 2023

In Europe, the new Cayenne makes its debut with three different powertrains. The entry-level Cayenne (shown in blue in the photo gallery above) has the same three-liter turbocharged V6 engine as before, but it’s been tuned up. So now it has 353 hp and 500 Nm, which is 13 hp and 50 Nm more than before.

The next step in the range is the Porsche Cayenne S (in gray in the photo gallery above), which now has a four-liter twin-turbo V8 engine to replace the previous V6. It has a maximum power of 474 hp (before it was 440 hp) and a torque of 600 Nm of torque (before it was 550). Therefore, it offers 34 hp and 50 Nm more than its predecessor.

To give you an idea, I’ll tell you about its benefits: both the SUV and the SUV Coupé accelerate to 100 km/h in 4.8 seconds and the top speed is 269 km/h.

Finally, there is the Porsche Cayenne E-Hybrid (in white in the upper photo gallery), which mounts the same V6 as the normal Cayenne, to which it adds a new electric motor improved by 30 kW. It delivers 130 kW (which is 176 CV) and the combined power increases to 470 CV (before it was 462 CV).

The battery increases from 17.9 kWh to 25.9 kWh, depending on the level of equipment, so that the electric autonomy goes up to 90 kilometers (more than double, because before it had 43 km).

A new 11 kW on-board charger now shortens charging time on a suitable power source to less than two and a half hours, despite the increased battery capacity.

At the moment there is no news of the GTS, Turbo or Turbo S E-Hybrid versions, but they will arrive later. And surely also with improvement in performance and benefits. But the real bombshell is that they are going to launch a 100% electric Porsche Cayenne in 2025, although it will be based on a totally different platform from this one and it will be in the next generation, of course.

This is the new Porsche Cayenne inside

Although we already told you about it in depth in this other content: Porsche Cayenne 2023, we have met him in person and we tell you what he is like inside. Also now I do a quick summary of how much its interior changes.

Completely redesigned cockpit, with a digital instrument cluster in a curved design and, for the first time in the Cayenne, the front passenger has his own 10.9-inch infotainment screen to, for example, watch videos during the journey.

The instrument cluster is 12.6-inch digital with a curved design and variable display options. An optimized Head-up Display is available as an option. For its part, the central screen is 12.3 inches as standard.

The new multifunction sports steering wheel is derived from the Porsche 911 and comes with the driving mode switch to select Normal, Offroad, Sport and Sport Plus modes which is now standard.

It also features the Porsche Driver Experience, first introduced in the Porsche Taycan, which focuses on the driver and optimizes handling. This means that the functions that the driver uses frequently are located directly on the steering wheel or immediately next to it.

For example, the lever located on the left behind the steering wheel now has additional functions to operate the driver assistance systems.

In this new Cayenne, the selector lever for the automatic gearbox is now located on the dashboard, thus freeing up space on the center console and leaving space for storage compartments and a large climate control. And the start is now by button and not with a rotary knob. Keep to the left of the wheel, of course.

Regarding the interior space and the trunk, there are no changes compared to the model that was already on sale, since the platform remains the same.

And finally, although I haven’t been able to drive it yet, I do want to tell you about some news that talks about how it can improve, if that’s possible, in the dynamic section:

Porsche now equips the 2023 Cayenne ex works with a steel spring suspension with Porsche Active Suspension Management and new dampers with two-valve technology to optimize performance.

Although you can also choose the new adaptive air suspension that further improves precision and driving performance.

Porsche Cayenne 2023: price and date of commercialization

This new Cayenne improves in many areas: it has more and better technological equipment, more powerful engines with better performance, and it doesn’t seem like it will be much more expensive than before.

Although it does not yet have official prices, the Porsche Cayenne 2023 we estimate that its base price will be around 100,000 euros, taking into account the technological improvement that it now incorporates and the price of the model that is currently for sale, which starts at 96,0000 euros.
