The British police work to clarify the causes, although they rule out that it is a terrorist attack
Downing Street is one of the best known and probably the most policed streets in Europe. On this road are located all the residences of the main leaders of the British government, among them, that of the Prime Minister who is currently occupied by Rishi Sunak. That is why the news that a car has crashed against the access to the road is going around the world.
From what is known so far, which is not much, a vehicle has crashed into the fences that block access to Downing Street in London. Agents from Scotland Yard, the British police, have arrested the driver who is now under arrest on charges of reckless driving.
Causes are being investigated
The agents in charge of the investigation are currently trying to discover what have been the reasons that have led this driver to hit the Downing Street security barrier. It has not been indicated if he was driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs or if the crash was accidental or intentional.
In a brief statement, the British police have reported that the accident occurred on Thursday, May 25 at 4:20 p.m. They also ensure that although the incident is being investigated by local Westminster officers “it is not being treated as a terrorist attack.”

Fortunately, there have been no injuries as a result of the crash, nor has the intervention of medical services been necessary.
Despite the fact that it is officially ruled out for now that it is an attack, for the moment a security cordon is maintained and the presence of agents with dogs in the area that has recovered its usual activity.
At the time of the accident several British leaders were inside their homes. Among them, Finance Minister Jeremy Hunt and Prime Minister Rishi Sunak who occupies the house at number 10 Downing Street and who has kept his agenda unchanged.
