Going back to that model that we talked about at the beginning of the article, it is an SUV with seven seats inside and a generous trunk that is for sale as one of the cheapest options in the D segment of SUVs.

This is the new generation of the SsangYong Rexton, a model that was launched on the market in 2017 as the fourth generation. At the beginning of 2021, it underwent a deep restyling that introduced changes at an aesthetic, mechanical and technological level. And, since then, it has been marketed without major news.

Starting with its exterior dimensions, the Rexton has a body that measures 4,865 mm in length, 1,960 mm in width and 1,825 mm in height, all on a platform that reaches 2,865 mm in wheelbase. It also has a ground clearance of just over 20 centimeters and an interior with seven seats divided into three rows of seats.

The trunk is one of its strengths. It offers a third row of seats that folds down and, once folded, leaves a flat load compartment that reaches 640 liters of volumetric capacity. If the third row is in use, the boot is reduced to 235 liters and, with all the rear seats folded down, the boot exceeds 1,800 liters of cargo volume.

In the mechanical section, the engine offer includes a single 2.2-liter inline four-cylinder diesel engine, which develops 202 HP of power at 3,800 rpm and 441 Nm of torque between 1,600 and 2,600 rpm.

This block is linked to an eight-speed automatic transmission with a torque converter that sends all the power to a four-wheel drive system, thus achieving a maximum speed of 184 km/h and an approved average consumption of 7.7 l/h. 100 km. By not offering any type of hybridization or electrical technology, the Rexton has the C environmental label from the DGT.

Trim levels and prices

There are three different versions that distribute the standard equipment. The Pro model is the entry-level option and has dual climate control, light and rain sensors, parking assistants with rear view camera, electric parking brake, LED headlights and 17-inch alloy wheels.

The Premium finish adds imitation leather upholstered seats, tinted rear windows and 18-inch alloy wheels. And the Limited trim includes leather upholstery, heated front and rear seats (ventilated front and power), a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a power tailgate, and 20-inch alloy wheels.
