If you are one of those who can’t stop listening to music every day, then Spotify’s offline mode is for you. This streaming music platform does not always need the Internet so that users can continue enjoying its content. However, it is not available to all users who use this service, but you must have a Premium account.

Spotify is one of the most widely used streaming music platforms in the world. Within this, Premium users are lucky enough to be able to take their favorite music or podcasts with them everywhere, even when they cannot get Internet on their mobiles, tablets or computers. And all thanks to its offline feature.

Listen to content without Internet

Having a Premium account on Spotify not only ensures you forget about ads, but you can also download content for when you go somewhere and have no Internet connection. You will be able to download albums, lists or even podcasts without problems. Although with a limit that sets the platform. In this case, users are lucky enough to download up to 10,000 songs on up to 5 different devices.

How do you download a song? Very easy, you just have to follow these steps, and remember that you must have an Internet connection to start a download:

  • Enter the app.
  • Go to the content you want to save. You can’t download songs, but you can add them to a playlist and download them.

  • Tap the down-facing date icon to save it to Your Library.

These steps can be applied to both mobile, tablet and PC. However, there are a number of points that you should be clear about when downloading content:

  • You must have an Internet connection.
  • You must have a minimum of 1 GB of space on the device.
  • There is a limit of 5 devices.
  • If you are going to download content with mobile data, you must activate this option: Start > Settings > Audio quality > Download > activate Download over the mobile network.

In the event that you do not have space, the download cannot be completed, just like if you have more than 5 devices. If it is due to memory, delete files from the mobile or content from Spotify that you no longer want to listen to. But, if it is because you have exceeded the limit of devices, you will have to close the sessions on the rest of the devices so that it gives you the option to continue downloading content.

Activate offline mode

When you go offline, you can listen to downloads automatically. But, if in your case they have not started playing, you can activate the offline mode:

  • Go to Start.
  • Click on Settings.
  • Enter Playback.
  • Tap on the Offline button.

In this way, when you disconnect from the Internet, you will make sure that you will only be able to play the contents that you have downloaded. To distinguish them, the rest of the music or podcasts will appear grayed out and, therefore, will not be available. So it’s that simple to distinguish the content you’ve downloaded to your PC, smartphone or tablet.
