Fiat E-Ulysse

The new Fiat E-Ulysse is part of the Stellantis electric van offensive. It is designed for VIP transport and offers up to 330 km of autonomy.

In recent years we have seen how Stellantis has almost completely electrified its range of commercial vehicles. This has caused some controversy, especially in some decisions that affected well-selling models, although the truth is that it is a successful move that allows it to take the lead. With the new Fiat E-Ulysse, the company takes a new step.

The electric version of the Fiat Ulysse was announced last year and Fiat presents it as the “ideal vehicle for VIP transport services”. At an aesthetic level, there are hardly any changes with respect to the version with a thermal engine, sporting an elegant style that rests on 17-inch alloy wheels and two body options, one with 4,956 mm in length and the other with 5,306 mm.

Up to eight people can travel inside the Fiat E-Ulysse and carry luggage in its spacious 4,900-litre trunk. It also integrates a three-zone climate control and an infotainment system with a 7-inch screen. Outside there are xenon headlights, power sliding doors and an automatic tailgate.

In addition, there is a variant called Lounge with capacity for up to seven passengers that Fiat describes as a “living room on wheels”. It integrates five seats in the back and a folding table in the center, a huge panoramic glass roof and leather front seats with heating and massage function.

Other notable aspects include an air purifier, adjustable rear seats and a wide battery of safety systems and driving assistants such as automatic emergency braking, forward collision warning, involuntary lane departure warning, blind spot control, camera rear view and traffic sign recognition system.

On a mechanical level, the new Fiat E-Ulysse is equipped with a 100 kW (136 hp) electric motor and 260 Nm of maximum torque. The system is powered by a 50 kW lithium-ion battery that can travel up to 230 kilometers on a single charge. Optionally, the larger 75 kW battery can be equipped, which increases the operating range to 330 km.

At the performance level, the new E-Ulysse can reach 100 km/h from a standstill in 13.5 seconds and has a top speed of 130 km/h. In addition, when charging the battery, it takes only 30 minutes to reach 80% of its charge from a fast 100 kW station.

Fiat’s new electric van will be built in Hordain (France), where models such as the Citroën Jumpy, the Peugeot Expert or the Opel Vivaro are also assembled. Orders open this month and the first deliveries are scheduled for early May.
