Vodafone continues with its commitment to 5G Home, its solution based on FWA 5G wireless connections, which rival fiber in performance and are a great alternative for those who cannot install fiber optics in their home or business. Less than a year after starting to market this service, it is expanded to new rates and welcomes a new router with better features.
5G Home has consolidated itself over the months as a very important solution within the Vodafone catalog. From now on, it will be an alternative to fiber in two new convergent rates, the highest value.
New Vodafone rates
Until now, to be able to enjoy Vodafone’s 5G Home, the solution to have broadband Internet without the need for fiber, it was available in a single domestic rate (to which Flexible Second Home Internet had to be added). However, little by little it has become an alternative with more rates for clients in areas where their fiber does not reach or for users who want mobility.
The success of this FWA solution has been such in this first year since the service was launched, that Vodafone already aims to have 100,000 customers in this modality by March 2024. To do this, it is launching new rates with Home 5G.
Specifically, the 5G Home service reaches the Vodafone Unlimited Duo and Vodafone Home Unlimited rates. These will have the option to contract Internet through 5G from next October 4, being renamed to Vodafone Hogar 5G Unlimited Duo and Vodafone Hogar 5G Unlimited rates.
- Vodafone Home 5G Unlimited Duo: includes the internet connectivity service through the self-installable 5G router, the Vodafone Landline service, with a landline with unlimited calls to national landlines and mobiles; two mobile lines with unlimited calls and unlimited data at maximum 5G speed, Vodafone TV with 60 channels and Vodafone TV Packs with Prime and HBO Max or Disney+, with Vodafone TV 4K decoder included 75.60 euros per month.
- Vodafone Home 5G Unlimited: includes the internet connectivity service through the self-installable 5G router, the Vodafone Fixed service, with a landline with unlimited calls to national landlines and mobiles; two mobile lines with unlimited calls and unlimited data at maximum 5G speed, Vodafone TV with 100 channels and subscription to HBO Max, Disney+ and Prime, with Vodafone TV 4K decoder included for 97.20 euros per month. The customer can add up to a total of 4 additional lines at maximum 5G speed and unlimited data for only €10.79 each.
In both cases, the customer must pay the cost of the 5G router in installments during the first 36 months. From then on, the wireless router will be your property. Currently, the 5G router offered with this solution has a special offer with a 50% discount, whether purchased in cash or in installments over 36 months.
New 5G Home Router
This announcement of an expansion of the rates with which the ultra-fast broadband service can be accessed through the 5G network is also accompanied by a renewal of the technology that makes it possible. Specifically, the Vodafone service has a new 5G router with improved features.
The new ZTE MC888 Ultra 5G router, which replaces the first TCL HH500V, features the powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon X62 chipset, allowing for the highest speeds in its class. In addition, it supports CA (Carrier Aggregation) in 5G and 4G networks, ensuring better performance indoors and outdoors, aided by an antenna with expanded gain. This new Vodafone router can reach speeds of up to 3.8 Gbps/250 Mbps in 5G networks that allow it and up to 1.6 Gbps/200 Mbps in 4G networks thanks to its LTE 22 category.
In connections, it comes with two LAN ports, one of them can offer up to 2.5 Gbps, which serves as a WAN. And the good thing is that it comes with WiFi 6 technology. In this way, it allows you to connect up to 120 devices at the same time and save battery life on the devices that connect to the network.
