These days the New York Auto Show is being held, with many brands presenting novelties at the event, including Genesis, which has given clues as to what its future models will be like with the Genesis X Speedium Coupe prototype.
It is possible that in general the design is familiar, and that is that it is based on the Genesis X Coupe that was presented last year, something that is evident in practically all angles, since the only area in which they differ is the rear. .
The roof drop of the X Speedium Coupe is longer than that of the previous prototype, achieving a fastback-style look in which the beltline and the top do not meet all the way, which is also topped by a tail-shaped spoiler of duck. This morphology also increases the lateral crystal surface.
Overall, it is a very athletic model, with a sculpted silhouette and very defined shapes, as evidenced by the bonnet or, above all, the muscular wheel arches that house large, multi-spoke wheels.
The most striking feature, however, is found in its light signature, made up of two LED strips that form a kind of inverted triangle on the front, which would serve as a grill (non-existent here as it is an electric prototype), and then extend to behind the front wheel arches.
After disappearing in the middle section, they reappear to shape the rear lights, to which is also added a third LED strip integrated in the upper area of the small spoiler.
The brand’s creative director, Luc Donckerwolke, explains: “This is not a show car, it is a look at our design processes as we explore ideas for the next wave of electric vehicles, one that embodies the Genesis DNA.” .
