The streaming landscape paves the way for us to watch great movie premieres on our screens. Some of these blockbusters have the collaboration of one of these platforms so that they arrive completely exclusively and with some extras, which encourage you to watch the film again to see what has been added. Thus, it arrives on Apple TV+, in the form of a special digital edition, one of the star premieres of the year.
One of the main reasons why we subscribe to a streaming platform is because of its content. It has to attract a lot of attention for it to be really worth the money we spend and the time we invest, as long as it meets our tastes and needs. In this case, even though Apple TV+ is one of the least in-demand digital applications, its catalog is full of very interesting works.
Napoleon comes to Apple TV+
The next big exclusive to arrive on Apple TV+ is Napoleon, the film directed by Ridley Scott that premiered on November 24, ready to devastate the box office in all cinemas, and boy has it done so. The film starring Joaquin Phoenix has grossed more than 200 million dollars worldwide and more than 10 million in Spain, with an average of 1.5 million viewers in Spanish movie theaters.
Scott’s magnum opus has received four BAFTA nominations, including Best British Film, Best Costume Design, Best Visual Effects and Best Makeup and Hairstyling. Likewise, this legendary adventure has three nominations for the Oscar Awards, where Best Visual Effects, Best Production Design and Best Costume Design are cited.
After the arrival of The Assassins of the Moon, the extended version of this blockbuster will be added to the Apple TV+ catalog for free on March 1. Subscribers will have access to a 4-hour viewing of the director’s cut, with a huge variety of additional content that will enhance the experience on the big screen.
A feature film full of epic battles
Phoenix plays Napoleon Bonaparte, an emperor and military leader of 19th century France who rose to prominence during the well-known French Revolution. Accompanied by a highly powerful army, he will establish his supremacy in several European nations, emerging winner of countless battles.
During Scott’s film, we will participate in such emblematic confrontations as the battles of Toulon, Austerlitz and Waterloo. The director has painstakingly recreated each of the Napoleonic wars thanks to the deployment of spectacular special effects, which will make us feel his cruelty and brutality first-hand during the 147 minutes of footage.
