The DANA has aroused the most supportive interest of many of us, who have decided to contribute our grain of sand through the different donations available. While we continue with them, it is important to know what possibilities we have to deduct them from the next income.

There are many people who in recent days have been providing extra help to all those affected by DANA through different donations. Remember that, once the deadline to submit the next Income Tax Return begins, it is important to include them in the draft, since it is a mechanism that provides tax relief for tax purposes.

From the year 2023, and as confirmed by the Red Cross, is it possible deduct up to 80% the money we have donated, as long as we do not exceed 250 euros. If we donate above this amount, the percentage is 40%. Although it can also be 45% in the event that we have donated during the previous two years an amount equal to or greater than that of the previous year. But what documentation is necessary to qualify for tax relief?

Documentation necessary to deduct taxes

As with any other expense that we need to deduct from the Income, it is necessary that the donations have their corresponding justification by the NGO to which we have made the transfer. Requesting it is very simple, but there is no standardized mechanism among all NGOs. Instead, we must contact the person to whom we have made the donation so that they can send us the corresponding receipt.

Most NGOs issue a certificate when the Income Tax campaign approaches to prevent taxpayers from forgetting to include this expense in the draft. However, it is possible that this will not happen next year, given the large number of donations they have had to manage in recent days. If we have not received any documentation at the time of donating or over the next few weeks, We must request said document.

In which boxes should donations be included?

In Form 100 of the Income Tax Return we find up to four donation boxes, each of them is used for different types of donations and range from 722 to 725.

If you have made a donation to any of the NGOs that are helping those affected by DANA, you must include all the information in the box 723, which is the one that is intended for donations made to entities included in the scope of Law 49/20202. However, if in doubt it is always recommended that you consult the NGO itself, since its team of technicians can help you have a little more information when including said information in your Income.

Finally, remember that in most cases these donations will already be present in the draft without us having to include or modify anything. And they will appear in the corresponding box. In this case, it will not be necessary for us to include more information or attach any document if it is not requested.
