Movistar television is still betting on its 24-hour channel of La Resistencia, David Broncano’s previous programme. And just yesterday, the presenter began his adventure on La 1 with La Revuelta. Although, this does not mean that Movistar Plus+ will stop broadcasting the different contents that have been recorded over the last few years.

DTT now has another competitor for El Hormiguero, in the form of Broncano. To this we must add the fact that Movistar’s TV platform continues with its usual content offering through the La Resistencia 24H channel on M+, a channel that continuously broadcasts programmes already recorded during the late show since its premiere. And, apparently, it has no expiry date. Even though they will not have new guests, since their presenter has left the project, the pay TV will reuse each of the programmes that La Resistencia has left as a legacy.

Broncano is now on La 1

Without a doubt, David Broncano’s departure to TVE has been one of the most controversial signings in recent years. It was announced in April of this year 2024, and although it seemed that Movistar Plus+ was going to lose a channel, the truth is that for the moment it remains standing with its collection of programs already recorded during all the seasons that it has been broadcasting on the blue operator’s pay television.

However, the Spanish operator has not missed the opportunity to turn the Instagram profile of this program into its new account for its OTT, as it has almost 3 million followers. And the same has happened with the rest of the profiles on other networks such as TikTok, X (formerly Twitter) and Facebook. A move with which Telefónica’s TV has managed to add more followers on social networks for its streaming platform, which is also under the name of Movistar Plus+.

Meanwhile, yesterday the broadcast of La Revuelta began on TVE, specifically on the La 1 channel of the DTT. So the well-known presenter is already getting used to what will be his new home.

And it seems that its premiere on La 1 has suited it. La Revuelta exceeded all expectations placed on this programme during its debut. More than anything, because the late show presented by Broncano obtained a 17.1% share and 2,152,000 viewers. A figure that, without a doubt, is quite good for the DTT channel. Although, it is still below its rival on Antena 3, El Hormiguero de Pablos Motos: 23% share and 2,893,000 viewers.

For the moment, La Resistencia 24H on M+ is still on. As can be seen in the programming of the Movistar Plus+ channels, they continue with the idea of using the old programs to continue offering content through this exclusive channel that premiered back in 2021, although the program itself began broadcasting three years earlier.
